    Becker Question –

So I just finished taking my 1st practice test. I plan on taking FAR next monday (August 27th) and I got these results on my test:

    Testlet 1: 76

    Testlet 2: 66

    Testlet 3: 76

    Sims: 75, 89, 100, 100, 80, 75, 100.

That weighed out (60%, 40%) was exactly a 77.7. So ultimately I would have barely passed…can someone who has taken the test and passed please give me comforting words that I have a good chance of passing the test? When I took REG a while back, my scores were worse on the first practice exam and I got an 80 on the actual test. I’m hoping the 7 remaining days to study, the possibility that the actual test is easier and the fact that it should be weighted more in my favor (partial credit in the Sims, etc) I have a good chance of passing.

I appreciate all the kind words and words of encouragement! If I pass this test, I am pretty sure my worries of getting my CPA before the end of the year are over. I think studying 6 chapters vrs 10 chapters will be a breaze come AUD!

    REG - 80 (4/19/12)
    BEC - 81 (5/31/12)
    FAR - 89 (8/27/12)
    AUD - 87 (11/12/12)

You can make it. I also did some weighted average calc and got an 84. Actual was 82. In AUD I scored much higher in real life. Now I'm waiting on BEC which i got an 88 on the practice but guessed my way through the exam. Help!!!

I scored a 73 on both final exams for FAR, and got an 88 on the actual. Also, if it makes you fell any better, I scored in the 60's on the BEC finals and still got an 85.

AUD is much more manageable with its measly six sections, too btw!

AUD is also because it's all one idea (unlike BEC and FAR that have tons of topics thrown together) and if you keep on applying the new information to the general framework then its a breeze. It is seriously boring though. I am very nervous about BEC though. In my third testlet they were pulling questions out of nowhere.

I thought BEC was fairly managable. The essay sims are pretty much freebie points. It has the highest passing rate of all the tests too, so don't worry as much as you might have for the other sections.

    REG - 80 (4/19/12)
    BEC - 81 (5/31/12)
    FAR - 89 (8/27/12)
    AUD - 87 (11/12/12)

I averaged in the low 70s on Becker's First Final Exam and in the 60s on the Second Final Exam. The key is to learn from your mistakes, and not to make them again on exam day.

I think you're in good shape. In the days leading up to your exam I would take as many 100 question Progress tests.

    F...... 94..... 7/3/2012
    R...... 89.... 8/1/2012
    B...... 93.....8/23/2012
    A...... 11/3/2012

I got like a 75 or so on my first Becker FAR practice test and got an 85 on the real test. In REG, I got a 68 on the first Becker test and got a 90 on the real test. All I know is that the Becker exams are notoriously more difficult. That being said, you can still learn a lot in one week's time! I'd follow @OneTime‘s advice and do some progress tests so that you can see as many MCQ's before the exam as possible.

Also, last bit of advice, make sure you leave plenty of time for the SIMs. I'd suggest about 45-50 mins per MCQ section and about 1.5 hours for the SIMs.

On a side note, AUD has been much easier to study for than FAR was (at least for me…). The homework goes significantly faster than the 3 minute/question FAR questions. I took my 2nd AUD practice test today and got an 82. Hopefully that means I'll pass the real exam on Thursday!

Good luck on FAR! You can do it!

    REG (5/31/12) - 90
    FAR (7/12/12) - 85
    AUD (8/23/12) - 91
    BEC (10/13/12) - 85

I'm doing Gleim but i've read on other message boards where the Becker exams were much more difficult and test takers scored higher on the actual exam.

I took the Gleim audit practice exam and scored a 78. Two days later I took the actual exam and scored 82 even though the practice exam seemed much harder. I'm taking FAR August 30 but I haven't attempted the practice exam yet. Good luck!

    AUD - 82 (July)
    FAR - 85 (Aug)
    BEC - 82 (Oct)
    REG - 75 (Nov)
