Becker Question –

I know that the final exams are harder than the actual. I also know that some don’t recommend the final exams because they hurt your confidence.

But, I’m currently stressing a bit since my final exam scores were 61 and 64. Even with the average spread, I’m not even sure that clears me for a passing score.

I take FAR on Friday. I’m now not sure what I can do in a day, if there’s really ANYTHING I can do in a day.

Any advice? I’m starting to face the reality that I just might not pass this one…

You really can't tell if the scores you received from the Becker Final Exams indicate you will pass. They, in my opinion, just bring your spirits down. So I actually have taken the road from not taking those anymore I just put all my time in reviewing MCQ's (i.e. progress tests or using the WTB) and just doing quick reviews of the SIMS. For example, this second go around with FAR I did all the Becker MCQ which were about 1936, then I completed all the WTB, actually yesterday which were additional 1400 or so. This definitely let me know which sections I need to brush up on before tomorrows exam. But don't give your hopes up just because of the scores you received on those Becker exams. Just keep your head in the game and keep doing MCQ and reviewing your notes and I am sure you will do fine.

FAR is a beast and I am sure hundreds of people have had the same feeling as you, and I am included. I mean I have already failed it once, so I am definitely much more aware that I could fail it again. Just push forward and give everything you can tomorrow and you may be surprised with yourself. Becker knows exactly what questions they have been drilling in the homeworks. Since they know exactly what you know, it is incredibly easy for them to manufacture a bad final exam score by asking variations of questions they never went over. That is what the final exam is meant to do, give you a bad score and motivate you to study more. Don't worry about the score on the practice exams. Worry about your scores on the progress tests. You should be getting at least 75+ by exam day while understanding why each question is right (not memorizing anything)

Don't forget to go to aicpa's website and do their sample test…theres only like 5 MCQ's and like 3-4 SIMS on it, but I have seen those questions on previous exams before.

@kma0505 It is for the reason of “induced panic” that I steer clear from the Becker's final exam. For all three tests, I haven't taken the final exam out of fear. It worked for me because I'm the type of person that will let the Becker's final exam score affect me so much that I'd doubt myself going in on test day.

I would say don't sweat it too much!

P.S. You will feel like crying when leaving the testing center for FAR – don't worry I think it's normal. I was certain that I failed and somehow I passed with points to spare. Trust in your studying!

If you all are afraid of taking it. Score the exam,you should take Beckers final exam one day after the real one, so you can have an idea if you fail or not.
