Becker Question –

How heavily tested is the material in the F10 lecture? I’m not looking for disclosure, just something like “x% of my questions were on material from that lecture.”

Jeff, I know disclosure is a slippery slope, so I apologize in advance if this is treading on that line–not my intention at all. Mostly this is just for comfort as I’m going through the homework for the second time and I’m actually doing worse this time around on this chapter.

See, I don't know if it's just that it's 10:30 and I'm tired and my exam is in 3 days, or whatever, but I did really bad on the partnership questions this time around.

My plan is to take one of the Becker final exams tomorrow, then do half of the final review materials I got for being a classroom assistant…then repeat with the other half Wednesday.

Just want that 75. That's all.

Yeah for sure your performance will get affected if you're burnt out. I don't do as well by the end of the night. Don't stress out too much, you can review it with a clear mind tomorrow. My test is tomorrow at 4pm PST, but planning to wake up at 8am to do a quick and light review of my notes. I'm also planning to do the 2nd final exam tonight and go over those disgusting inventory cost methods in the appendix of chapter 4. Yuck.

Well, I feel like F10 is to FAR what BEC is to the CPA exam. It's the “whatever else we couldn't slam into a different chapter” chapter.

I'm looking at it now myself…

crap, those stupid inventory cost methods…I hate when they throw in appendices like that. I paid good money for these materials, you can't be bothered to even review that stuff a little??

And forget the freaking financial instrument sections! Sure I can get familiar with it in Becker, but when I do it in Wiley, it's a disaster. It's like the IT section in BEC, a very detailed subject. Not all that necessary I think.

I haven't used any Wiley test bank. Becker's been enough for me with REG and AUD, I'm hoping that will hold up for FAR…because I do not want to go through this again.

That was the first time I heard anyone say Becker was good enough for REG. You're probably good as is then. I'm just deathly scared of failing and of these tests. I really really wanna pass this one for sure.

Trust me, I'm just as scared as you are. Unfortunately I have a wedding to pay for, so paying the extra money for Wiley or the Ninja notes/audio is out of the question 🙁

I only used Becker for FAR and did OK. I did purchase the Ninja Notes but quite late, so I only had time to read through them once. As far as I can tell, questions are quite random, with some people getting quite a few questions on one chapter or section and others getting very few. Seems they always ask the stuff you didn't really focus on, hoping it wouldn't be there. Can't really say what % of my questions were on stuff from chapter 10, but even if I could, it probably wouldn't help as it is not likely your experience will be the same anyway. Probably wouldn't spend a lot of time on it if you need to work on other sections; but if you have most of the other stuff down OK, I would definitely review it. It is all fair game as far as the exam goes! Good luck!

I didn't spend a ton of time on 8-10, felt like I needed to devote more review time to other areas. 10 seemed like Becker was saying – If you thought we didn't give you ENOUGH topics to study for FAR, here are a dozen more just in case! I did the lecture and MCQ's, but not much review on it. Good luck!
