The topic says it all. Anyone nail Becker, scoring high on MC and then go out and fail it?

If so, what do you think the main difference was?

Right now I’ve got 12 days left. I haven’t practiced any of the SIMS but I’ve scored high on all of the lectures. Just reviewing and doing more MC right now. I didn’t review periodically at all but it seems that most is coming back to me after reading my notes and digging in a little more.

Scared as hell. I’m so busy at work right now. I want this test over with, just looking for a 75.

As long as you didn't memorize answers, you should be good. For that reason, I DIDN'T LOOK AT THE CORRECT ANSWERS, unless I got super frustrated. I just saw what i did wrong the first time and tried the problem again, with that knowledge; this really drilled down the information for me. By learning all the things you can do wrong, you'll do much better.

Of course, try to get the question correct the first time; however, if you get it wrong, it's not the end of the world. Just make sure you look at what you did wrong; otherwise, if you just look at the answer portion of the question, without trying it a few times, you'll subconsciously memorize the answer without learning much, which you don't want to happen.

If you're doing well on your first attempt through, you're definitely in good shape.

B=84 This exam was such a b**** that I thought I failed-don't know how these things work
A=76 Slacker I am, I'll happily take it
    R=81 I LOVE taxes
F=80 I don't wanna get banned for an expletive I'm thinking with "yea" proceeding it

What kind of notes and how in depth of notes did you take from the book? Writing these out is taking me so long so I'm trying to determine if it's fully worth it or if I'm going overboard. I am using Becker as well. Realized a lot of the time the lectures don't really resonate with me in terms of comprehension because im too worried about what to highlight or underline, so I'm thinking writing my own notes helps, but again….taking a giant chunk of my study time. I work full time as well and am about to be super busy with quarter end…..ANY advice is so appreciated!!

I did the Becker in person class and most of the mcq my first time. I didn't even realize the Sims were a thing. I Got a 71.

The JE s and Sims killed me. Study the JEs and Sims.

    yes, don't neglect the sims.

I did great on REG Becker and failed it the first time. i studied about 2 more weeks just a few progress tests and reworked the sims, I passed the 2nd time I took it. I think it was a bad luck test I drew because I didn't study 11 points worth between my 1st and 2nd attempts.

    BEC - 8/8/16
    REG - 66, 77
    AUD - 81
    FAR - 9/8/16

I cruised through Becker for FAR my first time. Felt super great about going into the exam. Got a 68.

Second time, I used Roger and studied (really crammed) for a month and got a 72.

Sigh- now taking again this upcoming month. The test is just hard in general. So many topics, it's nearly impossible to get all that information in. The second time, I really focused on NFP and gov't accounting as well as equity and bonds. Improved my scored slightly but not enough for that blasted 75.

Fingers crossed I will just improve my score by another 4 points and be done with the beast! Good luck 😉
