The first fail was due to running out of time, but the last two were after studying hard. I’m clearly not grasping some concepts in Becker A4 as well as various conceots throughout. Are there any good cram or condensed materials out there to see the concepts explained differently?

My tactics have been reading, FCs, MCQs, NINJA Audio. People keep telling me to ditch reading and do the MCQs as many times as possible. Will it hurt to try this? I don’t want to fail again.

    Passed all sections.

My plan was to just rely on Becker for each of the tests. If I failed on any one of the sections, I would probably purchase another test bank (Ninja, CPA excel etc) The more questions you're exposed to, the more chances you will see a similar question come test day.

If you just relied on Becker for MCQ, it's time to switch it up and purchase another test bank. You probably already memorized the answers in Becker by now, which is especially easy for Audit.

Also, what was your score breakdown? MC or Sims? Or both? What sections gave you the must trouble? Pinpoint your weaknesses and do MCQ on those areas relentlessly.

Don't focus on the questions, focus on understanding the concepts. I don't know what A4 covers so that information was helpful. But most of audit is stuff you can think through if you look at it from the point of view of an auditor.

    BEC 87 Feb 14
    REG 84 Apr 14
    FAR 82 Nov 14

I also use Becker and I failed AUD the first time miserably with a 58. I went in feeling comfortable with the material and walked out feeling hopeful. So needless to say that I was in utter shock when I saw my score of 58. For my second time around, I watched the videos again, I read the book, and took extensive notes, plus I purchased Ninja notes. I changed my study pattern as well, instead of doing long sessions during the weekends of MCQ's and MCQ's (which I think I started memorizing answers), I started reading notes during lunch at work and in the morning before going in. I then practiced the questions at night and during the weekend. I suggest going through the Becker book and pulling out the Exam tips and writing down the notes, use highlighters, and draw visuals to help yourself grasp the information. I know for audit I drew different charts that showed the similarities and differences between public and private companies and also the different types of audit and procedures.

Also, I didn't take AUD back to back, I was already 75% through with REG material and already had it schedules, so I stuck with REG and passed with a perfect 75 (first try). I went back to AUD feeling more confident with a 2nd pass under me. If you've taken AUD 3 times back to back, try REG or BEC and then come back to AUD with a fresh start.

    BEC - 66, 77 (3/14* expired), 82 (11/15)
    AUD - 58 (4/14), 76 (8/14)
    REG - 75 (6/14)
    FAR - 72 (11/14), 67 (1/15), 68 (5/15), 68 (7/15), 80!!!! (11/15)

I agree with the above poster about moving on to another exam, you might be burnt out. When you are ready to study AUD I I think you should try another test bank like NINJA and if you're looking for another video course try Roger's Cram. He does a really great job condensing the material down to 9 hours of video and discusses the most heavily tested topics in a way that's easy to understand.

    FAR - (11/01/14) 71 (02/07/15) 79
    AUD - (04/30/15) 86
    BEC - (07/21/15) 73 (10/01/15) 75
    REG - (11/30/15) 55 (05/19/16) 74

You guys are right – I'm burned out. I think I'm going to start studying for FAR because I'm no longer learning anything for AUD. I feel like just wasted my money on the NINJA MQCs that I won't be using now, but there's no way I'll be ready in two weeks and I can't delay AUD until July. I hope this is a good decision, but I don't know what else to do. I lose REG on 11/30, so I'm petrified of failing either exam.

In regards to FAR, my Becker materials are expired. Will 2014 materials along with 2015 NINJA Notes/Audio/MCQs be sufficient?

    Passed all sections.

I you failed 3 times with Becker, the problem is not Becker. Probably you started to memorize the MCQ and you felt comfortable with the MCQ. I suggest purchasing MCQs from other sources and really test your understanding of the concepts.

Audit is hard. The questions are very helpful but you really need to understand the concepts because the questions are worded confusing and sometimes it seems like more than one answer is correct. For audit, what worked for me was taking notes. And when I would get a question wrong, I would read why. I also did the for guessed correct answers. The ninja notes and audio helped me a lot with audit.

    A - 75
    B - 78 God is good.
    F - 77 Answered prayers.
    R - 84! Done!!

Paperwork sent - waiting for license!!
Still on a cloud and in shock. Through God, all things will happen.

I didn't study as much for AUD as I did for the other 3, but I felt reasonably prepared going in, and I barely passed. In fact, I ONLY passed because I nailed the Sims. I scored “weaker” on nearly all of the MCQ categories but “stronger” on Sims.

My biggest issue on the exam was that the questions were so long and complicated that I had to re-read them multiple times to try to figure out exactly what they were asking me. I seriously remember laughing out loud at one question because it was such a grammatical failure that it sounded like a toddler had written it, and I could not have guessed what they were asking if you'd held a gun to my head.

That being said, I did not use NINJA MCQ for AUD because I ran out of time. I used NINJA pretty extensively for my other 3 exams, and my scores were much better. So there may be something to the theory that NINJA questions are more representative of the questions you'll see on the exam. I often wonder, because I see many Becker questions in the NINJA software, if Becker is doing a lot more “adapting,” i.e. reformatting, of the released questions than NINJA is doing.
