Becker Question –

So I’ll be retaking FAR in three weeks, and am now in the reviewing stage. I’ve watched all lectures, and now am about to do as many MCQs as possible.

What is the suggested method? Should I go through each section one by one, or do quizzes (100 questions or so a session?) that incorporate all sections and figure out my weak areas?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated since I've already taken this exam once and I'm starting to lose confidence…

I have only taken my first CPA part a couple of weeks ago and am still awaiting my score, so I'm not sure how much weight you should put on my suggestion.

I think following the NINJA framework provided by Jeff is a great way of studying. You nailed the lectures, and should start taking notes now. I took a lot of notes when I did my MCQ; what parts of the questions tripped me up and what I should look out for. You should go and do all the questions for each session individually until you're super comfortable with it (I knew I was comfortable with it when I knew what subject each chapter related to, and around which page each topic was).

Then at the final couple of days, I did a practice test that includes questions from each subject to make sure I didn't trip myself up. It's different to do questions about pensions over and over again, than to do one on pensions, then bonds, etc.

Thank you so much! I've taken lots of notes while going through the lectures, and have taken special care of writing all JEs down. I think that will help me when figuring out how to calculate items, so that I can create T accounts.

I was just afraid that if I went section by section, I would start to lose the earlier studied sections, but I think you're right in that I will at least know what area of the book to look up information for questions I get wrong.

do all the mcq's. then do sims. then quizzes. that should keep you busy till test day.
