    Hellocpa,

Selling/trading of used materials isn't allowed here…it will get me into trouble.

There are options available. What is your budget?

Wiley has the best book, not Becker.

The Becker book is like a Power Point Presentation. It is good for a review.

As 75 CPA mentioned, Wiley is a very good and highly affordable option. I started using Wiley, but found that things are very paraphrased and you have to do a lot of reading/thinking between the lines. It certainly has a lot of information, but isn't really “readable.” (but that's just my opinion after using it for BEC and FAR).

HelloCPA, i was in the same boat as you – wanted Becker but didn't have $3k to spend. I've been using both Wiley/Becker for each test and have been very pleased with the combination.

(P.S. I think there are discounts for Yaeger Review materials through this site as well…don't know much about those though…)

If you're a member of your state society of CPAs usually they offer various discounts too. I'm not sure what your employment situation is either, but it may not hurt to check with them to see if anything could be done to assist you in covering this cost.

    hellocpa,

$1,200 will get you Yaeger's full course with 2011 protection for FAR and AUD.

yaeger is good. I got the home study full course. Passed AUD first try and BEC 2nd try. I failed the BEC 1st try by 1 point, and it wasn't because of lack of quality of study materials…it was my lack of effort. Yaeger is good enough to get you to pass and half the price of becker.

In the end the most important thing is your study efforts – no matter the material you get.

    AUD - 81, BEC - 74, 80, FAR - 82, REG - 81
    Done!

hellocpa – I think financeguy has it right with his last comment. “In the end the most important thing is your study efforts – no matter the material you get”. If you put together a good study plan and take the time to learn the material you will pass this exam. There are people on this forum that have used Becker, Yeager, Bisk, Gleim, CPAExcel and I am sure I may be missing a few to pass this exam. You just have to put in the effort. Good Luck.
