I have heard wiley book is really good for auditing , a bit dry but good. So i was wondering should i change my study material for my second attempt .My initial plan was watching Gary, reading the wiley book and then doing the Wiley book questions along with WTB. However i am now second guessing myself and thinking whether i should go back to Tim Gearty and stick to Becker (which i used and got 74). I have all becker mnemonics in my head so i am confused. I have scheduled my exam for Dec 5th. What do you guys suggest?

    Aud 74/89.
    BEC 72 /78.

I use both. I refer to the wiley book while watching the yaeger videos, but never refer back to the book. The format and spacing is easier on the eyes for Becker. So in theory you should be able to study longer.

I prefer the Yaeger videos to Becker. I am sure you will learn enough to pass your next exam by just watching the lecture videos and doing more multiple choice questions in the wiley book.

However I have not passed audit 🙁 or taken it 😛

I spoke to an ancient wise man who sent me on a mushroom induced journey through an ancient forest to find the key to passing the CPA exam. A talking spider monkey told me to throw the last of my drinking water in the dirt to find what I was looking for. So I followed his instructions and the following message appeared in the soil:

"Do 5000 multiple choice questions for each section"

If you scored a 74, I would not switch courses.

Do exactly what you did to get the 74 PLUS study more over your weak areas or (marketing alert) get a supplement like the NINJAs or someone else's stuff – I don't care – I just wouldn't go drop an iPad on another course.

Email me and I'll send you my new book releasing next week – it has a chapter on this.

Yeah, you barely missed. I would hit the Ninja notes and take focused tests in your weak areas (score report should help you with that).

    Ninja + Wiley Test Bank: [FAR - 81] [REG - 76] [BEC - 88] [AUD - 73](doh!)

    Becker Videos: [AUD - 82]

Thanks guys , i am rethinking my strategy now. Sticking to becker does sound a better option, since i guess i already am familiar with their teaching techniques . Decision time.

Jeff- Thanks for the offer, i just sent you an email.

I was in a similar boat for AUD. I got a 73 the first time. Using the WTB online, I went into the reports and deselected every quiz/practice test/exam I had previously taken for AUD and started all over again. After doing several smatterings of MCQs, I would look at the reports to see where I was deficient and then reread those sections and hammer MCQs in those areas until I was more proficient. Then, I would move on to the next deficient area, and so on, until I could take a 90 question practice test and score consistently in the 80s. I liked this approach because there were some areas that I was already good in when I failed, so I didn't want to waste time re-learning what I already knew. I wanted to focus my energy and time on the sections where I could make up the most ground.

I never had problems with SIMs, so I didn't really work those too hard. Plus, if you know the material, SIMs aren't too bad. I also utilized the AL on the exam to answer almost all of my SIMs on the retake.
