Becker Question –

Long story short, my auditing exam is suppose to be in the middle of november, but something unexpected happened so I had to reschedule it until beginning of january next year. I bought my books and cd’s 3 months ago, and from what i know, i still have 15 months left to use the study material from the cd’s. i worry that the AUD 2013 will change so much that I will have to buy the newer version of the book because I’m broke.

“For the first half of 2013, the Audit exam will also be unchanged and you will be able to study with your 2012 materials. However, starting on July 1, 2013, the AICPA's Clarified SAS will be tested on the Audit exam. Becker will be releasing updated materials in 2013 that will cover the Clarified SAS. You will need these materials if you plan to take the Audit exam on or after July 1, 2013. Our advice to you is to plan to take the Audit exam before the Clarified SAS become testable.”

REG could also be changing after June so it's best to get that out of the way as well. FAR and BEC will not be changing in 2013 as far as I know.

I would say that starting July 1, 2013 you should not use 2012 materials. My review course says on their website the changes for AUD could be worth up to 65 points. I would really try and get it done within the first two quarters of 2013 if you intend to use 2012 materials.
