I bombed the mock exam with a 58, and I only have 12 days left til the real thing. Should I panic? What is the most effective tool you use in Becker‘s to master the MCQ?

Don't panic-use it as a learning tool-what did you know, what didn't you know? Remember the SIM and MCQ is a raw score… Do progress tests in a various cuts-by chapter, all chapters, some chapters. Do those SIMS and Skills Practices-super helpful toward the end. And if you haven't done it yet-write out notes for each topic in brief in your own words, with JEs. That really helped me solidify the knowledge.

I got around a 62 on my mock exam and got a 75 on FAR. I consistently score about 12 points higher on the actual exams.

I just re-did the MCQ over and over again. I'm also terrible and tend to read the question and then not always read all the answers and impulsively click one because I think it's right – not knowing that there's a better one I haven't read. So writing out “A, B, C, D” on scratch paper and crossing off each one as I read it and knew it wasn't correct really helped. I started doing that during the actual exam too so the test center people probably think I'm crazy when I hand in my scratch paper.

I got a 65 when I took my first mock exam 4 days before the actual, 77 when I took it the next day – and ended up scoring 89 on my actual. Just keeping doing those MCQs, with emphasis on your weak areas, and you should be okay.
