Becker vs Wiley results..having trouble gauging where I’m at

I know a part of why I do so well on Becker questions is because I’ve done them so many times that I might have memorized answers. But I truly do understand the questions for the most part so it can’t be all memorization by any stretch of the imagination. I do know my stuff.

On Becker, I took a 100 question progress test just a few days ago and got an 88%.

I also got Wiley Test Bank and have been scoring much worse, in the 60s. Why is this happening? I really can’t believe it’s due to me memorizing answers in Becker, not enough to warrant such a large difference.

I feel Wiley is so much more challenging because I’m not used to the format in which questions are asked, I don’t know how to explain it.

From everyone’s experiences how do Becker and Wiley compare to each other and how do they compare to the actual exam?

Should I be very worried with my Wiley results even though my Becker results are great?

Thanks everyone and Happy Mothers Day!

You'll be fine. Wiley's are worded weird or something; or are just more difficult. Such discrepancies are perfectly normal.

I never did the progress tests; just passmaster mcqs at my leisure, and would read the solutions right after each problem. Figured my studying time was learning time, and it'd prepare me better for test day. Ended up speeding through the actual mcq testlet on exam day.

    tl;dr – Yes, it's normal. Wiley's hard.

    Ok gotcha,

I'm still kind of worried. I seem to do worse on wiley then on Becker

I can't take it anymore I always do well on the questions and fail the actual exam…

What should I do??!!!! SO FRUSTRATING

I've just used Wiley Test Bank for all of my exams and it crushes me. I'm happy if I get a 75. Seriously, I found the WTB MC and Sims were harder than the exams. I've been prepping for FAR with WTB for 3 weeks and I'm just starting to break 75.

I don't know about Becker but I scored 10-15 pts higher on my exams than I did on WTB.

How many questions do you do on WTB?

I'm doing 50 per day after work and then 25 on Becker for a total of around 75 questions.

Is that enough? Considering I feel ok with most of the material?

On weekends I try to do 100 questions +

30 MC per day and 3 Sims at this point. I review every answer and make notes. I've done about 1100 so far just in WTB and have about 300 to go. Will prob finish in 7-10 days and spend the last 5 or so reviewing all the ones I got wrong.

By the time I take the exam I will have done all the WTB at least 1x which is about 1400 questions plus all the MC in the Wiley book which is 1000? Its a lot of MC for sure . . .

How do you know how many questions you have to go?

I didn't even know there were a specific known amount of questions on Wiley. I just do practice tests of 50 questions including all of the audit topics.

I didn't realize there were questions I haven't specifically done yet

    Thanks in advance!

In practice session, you can select from a drop down for slection criteria ‘not seen yet'. You should see all of the subject matters with a check box that you can use to select / deselect. Then there is a box that asks how many questions you'd like to answer. If you have selected ‘not seen yet', when you click in the box to indicate how many questions you want to answer, it will tell you how many questions are available. For example, this AM, there are 284 questions in my WTB that I have not seen yet. If I deselect all of the modules except for Not for Profit and go back to the box to indicate the number of questions I want to answer, it tells me I have 27 NFP questions that I have not seen yet.

    Good luck.

@DavidB1990 – I am experiencing the same results. I did really well on the Becker questions my second time through. I have been doing the Wiley Test Bank and I have been scoring high 60's. So I can attest to your frustrations. Just keep plugging along and we will be fine. The difficulty of the SIMS in Wiley have proven to be of great help to me. Try to get a good portion (if not all) of the SIMS done prior to sitting for the exam and you should do just fine.

At this point with only 5 days until my exam, I am just doing as many multiple choice questions in Wiley as I can. Whilst listening to Ninja Audio in my short commute to/from work. Hitting Ninja notes when I have downtime at work and also reviewing my written notes while going through Becker.

    Good Luck.
