I used the Becker book for my first three passes (supplementing with ninja mcq). I came up short on FAR with a 68 after less than 3 weeks of studying. I bought the Roger book and after reading about a third of the material I find that their explanation of concepts and examples superior to Becker. Anyone else feel that way?

I used to use Roger only and I didn't find it very helpful.. I use Ninja MCQ and Wiley flash note alongside now.

Things feel really jammed together and i found lots of flimsy mistakes (i reported a lot of them on homework help page) that sometimes mislead my understandings. Practice question explanation is surprisingly not good, compared to Ninja MCQ (remember, Roger is a big corp –now– and I think Ninja is relatively smaller)

However, it is his lecture that really helped me to keep up with the course. I think the fact that you have two material makes you feel that Roger has better explanation, since it gives you more view on things..

This is just me. I really skimed through accounting courses in college (luckily did well, but didn't stay in my head..). And its been several years since I graduated with no accounting related work, so that could have some effect on my experience.

I used Roger and Yeager lectures . Cindy gave me the base and roger helped me to retain the material . I did not like the text layout in Wiley book for FAR . Roger book are more organised and if you can drill roger questions in the book with real understanding and not memorizing the answers you can pass. Also you need to supplement with some test bank because doing same question again you will memorize the answers and then you are not learning any thing. I highly recommend to do Wiley sims in the book not the Wiley test bank.Test bank is good for MC.

Roger Philipp has a unique teaching style —entertaining and “intense”. Many of his students are die-hard fans( including me). I agree with you, that their explanation of concepts and examples superior to Becker which helped me a lot in BEC but sometimes Roger purposely wants to skip the non-critical part of the exam content.
