Becker vs Ninja MCQ

I’ve been using Becker to study for BEC for the last two weeks and have gone through all the MCQ. I have been averaging more or less in the 80’s. As a result, I decided this past Friday night to test my knowledge using Ninja MCQ. I found that the questions on Ninja are overall more conceptual and far reaching than those presented in Becker. My scores in Economics, particularly, have suffered dramatically as I am trending in the 50’s there. Because of this drastic drop in performance I am starting to believe that I may have gotten too familiar with Becker questions and didn’t really grasp concepts 🙁 For those of you that have used both, did you feel that the degree of difficulty of Ninja is higher than Becker? I have BEC exam tomorrow, I think I am doomed…

I havent used either..But from what ive heard..Beckers questions are for the most part similar to the test and a bit harder..Wiley is old test questions and CPA for free and Ninja are harder then the test but written on there own.

I could be wrong though…If youre in the 90s on becker you should not have a probelm passing.

I use both Becker and NINJA. I really feel they work together well. Yes you see some overlap but I truly feel becker focuses towards a diff area than ninja. Which is good b/c then you will be well-rounded and more ready.

I noticed when I was doing FAR, becker was more of a calculation type MCQ and NINJA were more answers with words, not calculations.

    -----------------------------
    BEC - 77, 03/2015 (first try)
    FAR - 79, 05/2015 (second try)
    REG - 83, 12/2015 (first try)
    AUD - 84, 03/2015 (first try)

I got 99 problems but the CPA ain't one.

I used Becker and NINJA MCQs and when I focused more on NINJA MCQs, I passed BEC. I do not feel Becker MCQs prepare you well for BEC. I used my Becker book, then NINJA to zero in on my week areas.

Thanks for your feedback, guys. I do agree that Becker emphasizes more on calculations while Ninja places more emphasis on conceptual understanding, making both an effective combination. But as I usually feel the day before the exam, “if only i had an additional week…”

I did not know that was the differences..Well FWIW Roger CPA uses a mixture of both calculations and conceptual..

I couldnt see ever paying for becker..

I find that for Bec, and true for the rest as well, Beckers is harder calculations, and ninja has much more in depth detailed questions. What i did for both BEC and REG, is that i used Beckers for the videos and questions, and then i would go back and fourth between the two softwares. So i would do 30 questions in beckers, and then immediately do 30 in ninja, back to back. Seems to have helped me since both softwares seems to be repetitive.

    FAR-76 First attempt.
    AUD-79 First attempt.
    REG-79 First attempt.
    BEC-79 First attempt.

    Done!

For Audit, do you feel Becker questions are enough, or should I supplement with CPAExcel or Ninja? I used Ninja MCQs when I studied for BEC the second time around and I felt like they were the only reason I passed. I am retaking Audit in April and am considering buying Ninja MCQs to supplement. However, I have a friend that passed the CPA and her CPAExcel is still active, so she is letting me use it if I need to. Thanks!
