I am on the hunt for a new CPA review software. I am currently using NIU CPA Review on-the-go and have not had great success. I failed FAR and am likely to fail AUD this Friday.

At this point I am looking at Becker, Gleim, or Yaeger. Do to my ADD and limited attention span I need something that is structured well to keep me on pace (in class or well laid out online plan to follow) and that can help me start from the ground up. I have been out of undergrad for almost 8 years and haven’t used much in my day to day position.

Any input would be greatly appreciated. From what I have read a lot of people back Becker but the price is redic, on the other hand people rave about Gleims MC questions (which I already have for AUD/FAR), and others say Yaegar is great at starting with the basics.

Anyone in a similar situation at one time? What did you go with and how did it work out? Thanks in advance for your help!

If you have a short attention span, maybe try giving Roger a shot… I'm the same way and his quick pace with some humor works for me. Plus you can get a discount if you previously purchased a different review course that didn't work for you.

I am using Becker and Yaeger, Ninja notes and Wiley test bank (get the full year). I have extreme ADHD, even with a plan I need to review a lecture at a time because sometimes instructor makes sense sometimes I just look them moving their lips. I found that when I start with Becker and switch to Yaeger every hour I get more work done. Its weired but whatever works to get me through this process. Writing the Ninja notes whenever I can most I have done in a day is 3 hours at 30 minutes with a break.

Gleim is way too detailed I used them for my CIA, and their mcq are good too.

If you are not struggling in the money department get Becker or Yaeger to supplement and keep things fresh. What I like about Yaeger is that they spend a tonne of time working on the mcq with you. What I like about Becker is how their books are structured.

    Thanks everyone..

I guess I should also throw Rogers in the mix. He seems to have a very well planned course and seemes pretty energetic.Picking a course is giving more anxiety than the studying!!

@ wptaylor – I have tried SEVERAL CPA review courses (Bisk, Wiley, Lambers, Roger)! I have to admit Roger is my favorite and I learned the MOST from him. I graduated in 2009 – started taking the tests in 2010 and gave up in 2011 just after getting married. I was failing MISERABLY. At the new firm I am at now, they are pressuring me to take them again. I took Audit on 5/24 and honestly felt SUPER prepared and it is all thanks to Roger. Not sure how I did yet, but I feel confident. I have a short attention span too, and his videos aren't more than an hour long….which makes sitting and watching them even better. Not to mention, he is funny and VERY energetic. I highly recommend his review courses!!!

I'm going to throw CPA Excel in the mix. It's all i've used and personally I think it has everything. I have good scores from it so far, and whenever I have a question I ask it on the mentor discussion boards and always have a response in 24 hours.

    FAR - 95
    REG - 93
    AUD - 91
    BEC - 85
