Just got my Becker 2013 books today (Becker said early November 2012 when I ordered in late October). I’m really disappointed to see that they have chosen to cut cost by going with thinner/cheaper paper. I realized this as I was underlining and writing note (per lecture). Because the type of thinner paper was used, my writing created impressions on the page behind it. There are also dark spots if my handwriting overlap printed text of the page behind it.

I borrowed my co-worker’s 2012 REG book to study while waiting for my set to arrive and there’s a significant difference in term of paper quality (2013 is worse). I’m really disappointed that Becker chose to do this after people paid ($3,300) nearly twice as what their direct competitors charge.

Those of you who got the 2013 Edition, is this just the problem with my batch or does yours have this problem too?

My 2012 material does that as well. I was definitely upset at first. Try contacting Becker and let them know what you are experiencing.

I did not have this problem with the 2012 FAR book, but definitely notice it with my newly arrived 2013 AUD book. The paper is really thin. 🙁

I got the 2013 BEC book two weeks ago and also noticed this problem. I didn't pay for the review course, so I can't really complain, but imagine if someone paid the full price ($3,315) and got this product. I'd be furious. Is Becker not making enough money already? Are paper and CDs cutting into their ridiculous profit margins? @TDKR is right — when you charge twice as much as your closest competitors, you're supposed to deliver a vastly superior product. Shit, you can get the ENTIRE Wiley Test Bank with hundreds of SIMS for less than $300. However, I'd still recommend Becker if you can get it for free or at a steep discount. But there's no way in hell I'd pay the full price.

Agreed. Crappy paper; crappy binding (pages falling out half way into first chapter); crappy tech support; 2013 materials arrived a month after promised; no CD's; $3,200 of my own cash gone.

I used to give Becker a luke-warm recommendation when people asked. I now suggest they try something else.
