Hi guys,

My Becker CPA Software is expiring on November 15th. However, my FAR test is on December 6th. I called becker to ask for an extension and they w ould not give it to me. I have heard that if you dont close out of the software after it expires that you can still use it. Has anyone ever hear this before? Is this true. IF not i will have to plan accordingly and try to get another software.

I would call them back and try again, maybe you can get someone else who may let you get the extension. Last year I was able to get an extension for a month I think and I had to send them a copy of my exam appointment confirmation.

I would agree with @bnrhilton, you might get lucky with a different customer service rep if you call again.

However, it is true that the software will continue to work as long as you don't close out of it, at least for 2011.

My 2011 software expired about a week before my BEC exam, but I didn't close out of it the day before it expired and it continued to work past the expiration date.

Definately call Becker, let them know the date of your exam, you may have to send them a copy of your NTS and they may likely to extend your software expiration date. However, if that fails then you can do 1 of the following.

1. Keep the software open

2. Backdate your computer by a few days and ensure that November 15th does not come before your exam date.

I saw this somewhere in another forum and tried it and it works. Example: If you last used the software today 11/12/2012 and close it then before you open it again make sure you change the computer's date to 11/12/2012 BEFORE opening the software each time. After your test date you can then change your computer back to the correct date.

Mine expired yesterday Nov. 11 and my liaison here in PR is trying to contact them to see if they can extend it for like two to three weeks. I know it has been done and Becker has approved it but try to do it through their set of rules.

Becker extended my software from October 2012 to the end of November 2012. I had to send them my confirmation from when i scheduled my exam. Surprisingly it was quick and easy.

AUD- 61,76-PASS!!!
BEC-60,71,76-Pass!!!
REG-66,78-PASS!!!
FAR-71, 81-Pass!!!

Where do you get the information for when Becker expires? I know it is 18 months but from what date – order date, program start up date, or first payment date (if paying monthly)? I would appreciate any information. I think mine may be expiring this month but not sure.

ALSO, IF I LEAVE THE SOFTWARE OPEN FOR THE SIMULATIONS AND TESTS WILL IT ALSO WORK? OR IS IT ONLY THE LECTURES AND MC QUESTIONS?
