Hey everyone, I am using Becker self study for FAR and I am in review mode right now. I am doing all of the multiple choice questions again (as recommended by the study plan in becker) and I pretty much remember most of the main concepts. My only concern is the multiple choice questions in becker are very hard (the calculations in particular) and sometimes I just get frustrated by doing 10 redic calculations/accruals/prorating in a row.

My question is, are the questions on the actual cpa exam itself this hard? I know you aren’t allowed to disclose information, but in comparison to becker, what are the multiple choice like?

I'd say the real questions are pretty hard .. as evidenced by the less than 50% pass rate lol .. when I took BEC I literally had to guess on some of the calculation questions because they were so ridiculous.

    - passed all 4 exams on my first try using Becker!

I'd recommend @Tanaya‘s method. Some people tend to kill themselves on calculations that take 30 minutes and you still probably won't get it right. If that happens, best to move on to the next one. A few incorrect multiple choice questions won't kill you, and time is much more valuable on the Sims than on MCQ. If you get to the Sims with plenty of time, you should be able to really dig into the literature and get a near perfect Sim score.

That's for test day. For studying, take the time to work through them. Half the challenge is figuring out how to attack it in the first place. If you've seen the setup dozens of times, you know you need to attack problem A with calculation B.
