When I get to the sims, the research question doesn’t appear to have a question. It simply never indicates what I am supposed to look up. Can someone please tell me what I am missing?

Also, is there a place where Becker shows you the best way to approach a research question?

That is the whole point of the research. It is not going to “simply” tell you what you need to look up. That is what you have to figure out.

In working the research questions, you need to read the information very carefully in order to know exactly what they are asking. When practicing, I would put a long phrase of words in regarding the question using the EXACT terminology that was being asked. I did this on my last FAR exam and I found the answer in about two minutes.

Thanks for the reply. When you say “read over the information” that's what I mean. I don't see any information displayed. No topic, no question, no prompt. Everything else on Becker works fine, but I feel like I'm missing something?

Okay, I am having a traumatic experience right now! I have not looked at a Becker SIM since 1/28 the day I took my last exam but hey for a fellow A71 friend, oh okay.

I am looking at a research question in FAR F9 and it makes a simple statement and then says find the section in the ASC that addresses the topic. Are you not seeing anything like this? FAR is the only software I have that is still active. What section are you working on? Are you able to access the ASC in the software?

Thanks for looking. No I don't see anything like that. Only the boxes to input my solution.

I think there is something strange going on with my software. I'm probably going to have to call Becker's support number, if they even have one.

Is this for the online, 2013 version? I was just doing my Audit SIM today and had the research questions working fine. Maybe you're using an unsupported browser? I would definitely try a different browser or call Becker. 🙁

Sounds like a software issue. Becker does have good support for their software. I once had an issue with a whole chapter is AUD. And they were able to fix it online as I talked to them.
