Becker REG is terrible

I have been going through reg with Becker and I gotta say I am pretty unhappy with it. I just don’t understand what tim is saying and i have been getting more and more confused. I am almost done with R3 and dont feel like i know anything.

My question is has anyone felt the same way, and if so have you used yaeger with becker and had good results? I heard yaeger actually teaches the material to help you understand it and I think that may be what i need.

I have always been weak in the area of taxation and I just dont feel comfortable with beckers materials at all on this section. FAR and AUD I think they did great but I am not diggin REG.

I used REG last window and got a 70. I watched the lectures and highlighted and did all the mcq's–but it didn't work for me. I think for every review software there is always someone who will say that it was great and someone who will say the opposite. Overall, I need more than just a review so while I do think the Becker lectures are good, I need to supplement to get all the nuances. Personally, I didn't think tim went through enough of the details. And with REG, there are so many details. I am using Roger Cram and am really liking his attention to detail. I think some people might find him annoying, but for me, he is a nice change of pace. I still use the mcq's in Becker, mostly the supplemental from each section and then simulated exams and Final Exams.

I also think that my first swipe at REG I felt like I didn't know anything either. It took awhile for the info to sink in. I think once you finish all the chapters and start chugging away at the mcq's again, you will find that things start to meld. For me, the tax is easier to make sense of…..however, the business law portion-OIY!!!!! Serenity Now!

I am going to own the library today, tomorrow, and Sunday. Game time on Tuesday!!!

    Best of luck!

forgot to add: I bought the Yaeger cram last window because alot of people said positive things about Phil, but I didn't like it as much. I listened to it again this window and I felt like I didn't absorb anything, so that was why I got the Roger cram. I felt like Phil was disjointed in his approach. BUT that was me, everyone has to see for themselves.

Thanks for your input, it seems like you and me have similar learning styles and views with respect to REG. I am definitely going to check out Roger, i watched one of his reg videos on youtube last night and I really liked what I heard. I liked the fact that roger gives a lot of examples of the rules and details because thats how I like to learn.

I agree with you that tim doesn't go over any of the details. I feel way too rushed and I feel like I am left on my own to try to figure out everything he didn't cover. I think becker was good with the other two sections because although they were just reading the textbook, the stuff wasn't that hard and I understood it for the most part. I think REG is totally different than AUD and FAR and I think I am going to need to find something different.

I used Yaeger for REG (currently studying), but I only watched the lectures for the tax portion. I did not like Phil's teaching skills compared to Cindy who taught BEC and FAR. He just seems so unorganized and is constantly making errors. I couldn't stand it after getting through the tax portion and the Business Law seems like just a bunch of reading I could do on my own so I didn't watch the videos of him reading from the book…I can do that on my own lol

Roger has a book with notes and mcq's in addition to the cram. I feel like the cram is really informative!

    good luck…
