    Hey guys,

So I recently thought what if I dont pass a single section before my Becker expires LOL. I hope this doesn’t happen but I always have the tendency to think the worst case scenarios. I still have about 10-11 months on it but “what if” this happens. How does the becker promise work? Sorry if this question has been answered before.

I did not pass any sections before my Becker expired, granted I only tried for two sections and then gave up because of work. However, I looked into the promise and you have to meet some pretty high standards in order for them to give you the promise. You should be able to find it on their website, but you have to do something like watch all the lectures 100% and do 90% of all the MCQs before they will consider giving you an extension. Also, they require proof of all this in the form of a summary of the work you have done so never ever reset all your stats otherwise you lose all the proof that you have met the promise requirements. This is the website I found:

    CPA Review

    AUD - 69, 77
    REG - 74, 81
    FAR - 75!
    BEC - 71, 82

    IL candidate!

    Finally done (5/24/16)!! Yahooooooo!

    Eligibility Requirements:

Live Format and Cohorts Program candidates must successfully complete 90% of all course software multiple-choice questions for each part and attend 100% of the classes, including the self-study at home lecture, either in-person or via the pre-recorded lectures. In-Class candidates meeting the criteria must print out their performance summary report from the course software and submit it to Becker within 45 days following the completion of the last scheduled class of each individual section.

FastPass® candidates must successfully complete 90% of all course software multiple choice questions for each part and attend 100% of the classes, including the self-study at home lecture, either in-person or via the pre-recorded lectures.
FastPass candidates meeting the criteria must print out their performance summary report from the course software and submit it to Becker within 45 days following the completion of the last scheduled class of the last section of the FastPass schedule.

Atlanta Intensive candidates must successfully complete 90% of all course software multiple-choice questions for each part and attend 100% of the classes, including the self-study at home lecture, either in-person or via the pre-recorded lectures. Candidates meeting the criteria must print out their performance summary report from the course software and submit it to Becker within 45 days following the completion of the last scheduled class of the last scheduled section.

Online Format candidates must successfully complete 90% of all course software multiple-choice questions for each part and view 100% of the pre-recorded lectures as indicated on the performance summary. Self-Study candidates meeting the criteria must print out their performance summary report from the course software and submit it to Becker within 365 days from the original purchase date of the course materials.

    All Formats

If you meet these requirements, you may then repeat the course 100% without tuition charge, via any format that is offered by Becker at the time you redeem the tuition waiver and begin the course. However, you must pay a material and license fee ($195 per part) for each section taken. The material license fees for the Becker Promise tuition waiver are non-refundable.This tuition waiver expires 365 days after the day that positive correspondence of earned Becker Promise status is e-mailed to the student. If you do not qualify for Becker Promise tuition waiver, each part of the course may be repeated once for 50% of the regular tuition (returning student savings). See returning student policy for additional details.

So, if you complete 90% of the MCQs and 100% of the lectures (for online/self-study, which I'm assuming is what you are), then you can pay “only” $195 per section for the repeat, but you have to apply within 365 days of original purchase, so slightly before your subscription expires.

I paid less than that for my materials to start with…weird to think that the “guarantee” discount is still more than I paid to start with. Wiley no-lectures FTW! 🙂

EDIT: It didn't show Jessica's post till after I'd posted, and left the thread, looked at a couple others, refreshed the home page, and saw there were 3 posts in this thread…oops! The link she posted has the same info as the quote I posted. If I'd seen her post, I would've just left it at that instead of posting it myself, too.

Thanks a lot for the help. I did read up on the promise but was still confused because they said it was guarantee or something LOL. Just wasn't sure about the timeline that I have to submit the proof. Was very helpful!

I believe you can also get a 6 months extension if your becker expires and it's your last section. Just have to send them proof that you have the exam scheduled.

So what happens when your becker license expires? Does the software(installed on your computer) just crush and you will not get access to videos, Homework, notes? Anyone who purchased becker review please share.

Yes… All access goes away. You can get an extension like mentioned above though. If you still need access after the extension you can pay 1/2 price per section to renew again. If it expires I would switch to Ninja and be done with it.

    A - 79 expires 4/30/16 need a pass on REG
    B - 78
    F - 80
    R - 83!!! Can live again!
