I have been doing progress tests for the past few days and I keep scoring 67% !!! First test was Ch 1-5 and I got 67%, then I took 1-6 and got 67% – tomorrow I am planning to do ch 1-7…I am so worried that I can’t get over a 70% that I will not be ready for FAR on Monday!

I plan to take the (2) Final exams this weekend after I have gone through all Becker chapters again with the progress tests…I haven’t put as much time into the simulations as I would have wanted because everyone kept telling me to focus on the “concepts” and then the sims will be cake….I tried sims today…NOT THE CASE! Nothing was cake!

I also heard Becker has harder questions than the actual CPA exam…so if I take these final exams and get the dreaded 67% AGAIN, you think I could walk out with a 77%?! ::wishful thinking::

In my experience, Becker is harder than the actual exam. I would say keep doing as many multiple choice questions as you can. Eventually, you will average above a 75 and be ready for your exam. You can do this!

When you do you progress tests… MAP out how you are scoring by each chapter in excel… right now I am doing that for my BEC test next week and by obvious week area so far is Chapter 1 Section 3… it will let you know where you need to drill hard before the exam.

    FAR - 81
    REG - 81
    AUD - 82
    BEC - 81

@laurie When I studied for FAR, I scored at the lowest 73% on a progress test. I typically averaged in the 80s. Of course, thats when I've seen the questions so many times I pretty much memorized the answers. Keep at it.

The SIMs are never cake!!! They will be the most confusing and scariest questions you've ever seen on ANY exam in your life. Just try and answer them to the best of your ability and pray to the CPA gods.

thanks FutureCPA12, I DREAM of your score of a 76 for FAR on a daily basis.

I won't give up…tomorrow I will be right back at it…I am going to retake the progress for 1-6 again because I spent the rest of the tonight going over the wrong problems and I found that I made stupid mistakes on more than half because I was rushing.

After I get through that it is chapter 1-7 cash flow & stockholder equity fun (ughh!)

I am determined to get 1-9 done by friday night. ch 10 will have to come at some point during the wknd while I cram in the final exams…can't stop – won't stop!!

    must. defeat. the. beast!!!

Make sure you completely understand Gov't and Not For Profit. Thats a big chunk of every FAR exam! Maximize those points.

futureCPA12 thanks! out of the entire book, besides the equity method, i am next strongest in gov't and NFP….kinda nuts but I had such an awesome instructor it just clicked and now I am very confident in it…we shall see if the examiners break that confidence or not ha!
