Hi everyone,
I ordered my Becker materials in August 2010. I planned to sit for FAR and AUD in 2010, and the others in 2011.
Understanding that significant changes were being made to the exam in 2011, I asked the representative, “What if I don’t take (or pass) FAR or AUD during 2010?” I was told that I could receive a free update of the electronic materials and that if I wanted the 2011 book, it would be $20 (or something close to that).
I have now taken everything but AUD. I called Becker this morning to inquire about the update and they are now saying I will have to pay $600 for a new registration (discounted from $1200 because I’m considered a “former student”.) I was NOT happy! Has anyone else dealt with this? Apparently, they ended their “Product Update Program” in March, however, I had no idea this was some limited time program. My understanding was that as a student, I had access to the current materials and just had to pay a fee for them to print/mail me a new book.
Anyone have advice on what I should do? I don’t think I should have to pay $600 when the Becker Rep assured me it would not be a big deal if I ordered some 2010 materials and later pushed my test to 2011.
