Becker or Roger?

I am currently using CPAexcel with the 10-point combo, and have not been doing so well with five failed attempts. I am very confident about my BEC retake coming up on 2-28-14, however, I am thinking replacing CPAexcel with a different review course for FAR, AUD, and REG. And I still plan to use 10-point combo as a supplement. I am just wondering, which is better, Becker or Roger, and why?

I was broke so I got Gleim, but I used to watch sample videos of Roger on Youtube and I have to say that he is definitely more animated and interesting to listen to. I even thanked him for his little method of remembering a capital lease, a cheer that goes like (“TT, PBO, 75 or 90”). Over 1 year later and I still remember things he talked about. He's so much fun!

    CPA - Since 2015
    CISA - Smashed 2012
    CIA - Passed 2015

I preferred Roger as a lecturer, but I like the HW and SIM features of Becker more.

@mystical guy I still remember that cheer too. I watched Rgoers sample chapters for FAR, plus some other YouTube videos that explained Bonds/PV/etc from other YouTubers. Now that I'm studying for Audit I don't want to watch anything on YouTube because I'm afraid it will be outdated!

I'm not sure if the lectures would really help me all that much. I seem to do well reading the Wiley book, using the WTB and Ninja combo.

Roger as well… I just found out that If I fail FAR, I will get my cram course with a very good price as well 😀

Unfortunately my budget wasn't good for AUD to buy Roger, but I'm with BISK in that one, very satisfied with the internet resources and the review book they have 🙂 I'm a lucky girl!

I will pick Roger as well. The way he explains the material, his motivational speech lectures has helped me retain a lot of material for the CPA exam.

There is one point I will say No matter which review course you use – the main tool to pass the exam is actually yourself. You need to study, practice and so some online research on concepts that stump you. This is how you get to you A game for the exam.

Roger and Jeff both say, you need to study and practice what you have learn and if you are getting a lot wrong, you need to go back – re-read, make notes or re watch the video to reinforce the material.

    No pain no Gain.

i only used roger for FAR but wish i used him for the other sections. he explained things in a way that i can understand

i initially heard roger was very hyper and fast paced so i was expecting him to do backflips and bounce off the walls while he lectured, he isn't like that at all. yeah he's more hyper than phil yaeger but that's not say much. i even laughed at some of his jokes and laughing is very hard to do when watching CPA lectures

becker pass master software is the best though

    REG-65,71,74,73,70,74,79
    BEC-60's,60's,69,71,76*,78
    FAR-67,66,65,79
    AUD-54,60's,65,83*,69,80
    *expired

If you want good lectures choose Roger. If you want good multiple choice and sims to practice choose Becker.

I spoke to an ancient wise man who sent me on a mushroom induced journey through an ancient forest to find the key to passing the CPA exam. A talking spider monkey told me to throw the last of my drinking water in the dirt to find what I was looking for. So I followed his instructions and the following message appeared in the soil:

"Do 5000 multiple choice questions for each section"
