Becker optional MCQ questions

Quick question for those of you using Becker – do you complete the optional MCQs for each chapter? I have not because I am already spending so much time on the required ones that I cannot imagine how I would find time to complete the optional ones (which are harder and therefore require even more time). However I don’t want to leave any stone unturned and if the consensus is that the should be completed, then I will have to find the time to do them.

Thanks for the feedback! Today I am reviewing chapter 5 (bonds and leases) and am failing miserably at the homework and just feel hopeless about this exam in general. 🙁

I've always found them to be useful, but I will say that some of them are brutal. I notice around a 5-15% lower average on the optional ones. I think F5, F2, and F8 were good ones. F4 was really tough because of all the retail and consignment stuff. I thought F7's optionals were the hardest.

    BEC - 80 (Becker)
    AUD - 92 (Becker+NINJA MCQ)
    FAR - 87 (Becker+NINJA MCQ)
    REG - 90 (Becker+NINJA MCQ and Audio)

Yes, I recommend doing optional questions.

Find the time to do as many as you can.

They will help you to learn more.

Do all of the required ones first. Then, go back through each chapter and do the optional ones. You can use them sort of like a review – or should I say “pre-review”.

Use them to test your knowledge. It will help you identify weak areas.

    FAR - 86 - 2/27/14
    AUD - 75 - 5/29/14
    BEC - 80 - 8/31/14
    REG - 89 - 2/27/15

I did originally for REG and did them as a part of the regular HW. I didn't do any optional or SIMS above the regular HW questions for BEC and FAR. The MCQ and video lectures were enough for me to pass. You can already identify weak areas when going through the HW the first time after watching a lecture. For example, I'm going through the lectures and the same questions again for my final review and the weaker areas are still weaker, however I'm scoring much higher (I didn't memorize the answers-I just feel like they make sense to me now). Just like I didn't do any progress tests for any of the sections (I rationalized there wasn't enough time for reading the book or doing progress tests and just had faith in the MCQ)…the lectures already are reading it to you. They're optional for a reason..if they believed you had to do them they would be part of the essential homework, right?
