BECKER mobile flashcards – any good?

I’m considering the mobile flashcards from Becker’s, for Windows Mobile or Iphone. If anyone owns, or has used the software please post your review, and if you think it was worth the 3 bills.

Also, I had a set of paper flashcards last year that I scanned into PDF and use to scroll through on my phone. It worked great with the only issue being I couldn’t review or mark only the weak cards.. Is the software considerably helpful for marking and filtering?

    Thanks

I am considering them as well, for the iphone. From some of the reviews that i have read, they aren't very user friendly. I don't think you can stop using them, and then pick up where you left off. I could be wrong. Let me know if you get them and how you rate them. Whats another $300 at this point?

I found the Becker paper flashcards to be somewhat inaccurate and full of errors and typo's. It was easy enough to alter them when they were paper format, but I don't think that would be as easy for the electronic format. It would be convenient to access the electronic flashcards where ever and when ever. However, I doubt they are worth the money. You will be better off making your own or sticking with the pre-made paper format.

    Just my opinion.

    hi All!

I'm considering the purchase of used paper flash cards

Choosing between 2010 edition for 60$ and 2008 for 30$.

Is there any value of buying 2010 instead of 2008?

I would definitely buy the 2010 version.

I passed using the 2008 version flashcards, but $30 isnt really that big of a savings imo.

I think I am going to celebrate passing the CPA exam this weeked by putting all of my study materials into a fire pit and roasting marshmellows over them

So do you think its better buying used Becker notecards instead of making your own? I waiting for confirmation from NASBA and ill prob take FAR come end of july. Ive been making my own notecards but idk if im missing anything. BUying them used seems to make sense. Im just hoping passing FAR will give open up doors for me. GET IT.

I bought flashcards off EBAY used them heavily on FAR, somewhat on BEC, lightly on REG as i have jeff's notes, and not at all on aud. Somewhere i just lost steam with them. Now I am picking them up again for my BEC retake.

I used Becker for my BEC section. I really, really liked the flashcards. Personally, when I make my own, I tend to focus on writing words and numbers, and not the content.. so that's why premade was much better for me. It really depends on how you learn best – I know people who recopy notes and immediately memorize and re-learn the information, while I just finish everything after a few hours and realized I learned nothing. Goodluck!
