    Becker Question –

Alright, folks (lol, sorry) – do you read a chapter/section first and then watch the video or vice versa? So far, I have been going through the book 3 times: before the video, during and then after, to wrap it up. Not exactly productive.

    What is your method?

Watch lecture, jump right into MCQ homework without even reviewing, use my book to answer the questions… this is just how I learn and it has turned out to be a good method for me. I don't waste time re-reading the chapters because I won't learn anything. I occasionally make a note card for topics that I am having a difficult time with and put it some place where I will always see it. The only time I don't use my book is when I do the practice exams, otherwise I look things up to confirm I have the right answer or figure it out if I don't know it.

@Texas27 – Thank you. Do you watch by sections or an entire lecture in one sitting? Seems like this brain of mine cannot hold more than 2-3 sections at once. I am getting old, probably.

Ha, I'm still pretty young and I can't stand to sit through those lectures either sometimes. I sometimes sit through them all at once or sometimes I do it section by section which can help because you are only focusing on one topic at a time. It just depends on what I am feeling like that day or if the sections are completely unrelated or have an extreme amount of detail.

I just watch the lectures and take good notes. Haven't read the book yet unless there is something specific that I feel I need to cover in greater detail.

Hey Jeff, it makes a lot of sense. I earned my first degree in Russia, and this is exactly the way we used to study: take loads of notes and then study from our own notes. Highlighting in a textbook goes against the grain for me. I just finished F1; and I will work F2 using your approach.

Back then we did not have MCQ covering an entire course, thou. You would pick a so-called exam ticket with two questions. Answered – done! Ol' good times.
