ParticipantI was doing 80-90% on most Becker quizzes before I got the scores below. You were definitely on the edge as far as your knowledge. You need to up it a level. And how were your sims? How many Becker mcq's did you work? I worked ALL of them. Did you?
Bec 4/11/11 91
Aud 7/11/11 75

MemberI'm going to have to side with Mini and jjp on this. Becker provides more than enough resources to allow you to pass the exam. There is no reason to blame Becker and the AICPA curve because you were unable to master the material enough to pass the exam.
Just because you get 80% on the passmaster questions does not mean you have mastered the material. Anyone can do the passmaster questions right after they watch the lecture and easily get 80% of them correct because the information is fresh in your mind. You have to actually learn and understand the material, to do well on the actual exam. Maybe next time try reading the first three chapters, then go back and do the passmaster questions for the first chapter, and learn from the mistakes you made. Your passmaster % may not be as high, but it will be more beneficial in the end.

ParticipantI haven't used Becker but I believe everyone is entitled to their opinion. If goodluck2everyone believes Becker is garbage, then he/she has a right to make that assessment because 1)he/she has used the software/course, 2) he/she formed an opinion based on his use of the software/course. I do not believe he/she was speaking for anyone else but himself. That's great that it worked for others…but he/she is just venting!
@goodluck2everyone: assess your weak areas if the Becker software allows you to do this; also use the score report to assess your weak areas. I would try another test bank such as Wiley or Gleim and work MCs (hundreds, even thousands if time allows) until your next test date. Practicing MCs is critical…I am not sure how many MCs you practiced with Becker but to pass FAR and REG, I did over 2000 the second time around for both. I am still waiting on my AUD score but I still practiced over 2000 MCs. Sometimes you have to supplement your current review course.

Member@gotta
when I took BEC, it was the 11th day of that testing window.
When I took REG, it was the 31st day of the window. I did HORRIBLY and still managed a 68
I took audit the second to last day of the window and freaking bombed it (even though I knew the material for audit relatively better than bec or reg)
conclusion: take it the first 2 weeks of the window for the best curve.

Participant@gottagetmycpa – You'll always be on the wrong side of the curve if you don't have the knowledge to pass the test. If you had done everything right, you would have passed. Change your study methods. Maybe you are memorizing the problems instead of really knowing them… I don't know. But you need to take some personal responsibility and stop blaming everyone and everything else. It's ridiculous.
@goodluck2everyone – Stop blaming the curve. You said it yourself… you got weaker on the sims. That was my problem too for a while. You just have to do better on them, and honestly, no review course can 100% prepare you for the sims. I don't know how you approached them, but what turned sim performance from “weaker” to “stronger” was that I spent a lot of time in the research tabs looking up answers to sims I didn't understand.
Seriously I have never read a more pathetic excuse of a thread. Whine whine whine… how about the whiners spend more time studying and examining how they could improve their study habits instead of coming on here and blaming the AICPA, the computer, whatever, for their failing scores. And LOL at anyone who blames their failing score on “getting scores switched with someone else.” You failed! Get over it. Most of us have been there before.

If I'm able to get most of becker's practice questions correct the first time and that doesnt even translate to a decent score, then its not my fault but becker's fault kapish?
