    Becker Question –

    I missed Goodluck’s blame-shifting…that, plus I like to stir the pot.

    I can honestly say I do not miss them a bit!

    FAR- 63, 75
    AUD- 61, 78
    REG- 63, 74, 80
    BEC - 63, 61, 75!!!!! I'm done!!!!

    Well I'm re-studying for FAR and I must say that it's a lot clearer the second time around so that's nice. I'm struggling a little with F2. Its difficult for me to follow Gearty. I'm much more of an Olinto fan. If anyone wouldn't mind breaking down the major topics/important points from F2 I'd really appreciate it. It seems like Gearty never emphasizes important facts but instead just reads the book to you. Thanks for the help!

    @KasiaS

    I totally agree with you about taking responsibility. I failed all of my tests the first time even though I was using Becker. Instead of complaining about getting crappy scores I read what other people were doing and starting to figure out what worked for me. After revamping my studying, I have taken 2 tests and passed them both. For me it was watching all the lectures, taking notes, and using Ninja notes. Pretty much everything Jeff suggested. Now do I expect to pass FAR and REG this next round? All depends on me! How much I study, How much I work. Not the review course I use. A pre-recorded video can only do so much. Anyways, sorry for rambling!

    I'm planning to use Becker too – I just talked to someone from CalCPA tonight and he said to buy the Gleim CDs too because they have questions that Becker doesn't have. Is this true?

    Yes, but the Wiley test bank is better than Gleim. I used Wiley as a supplemental for 3 of my exams.

    I like Becker as well but I think it all depends on personal study habits…I'm on to REG next; heard Becker is weaker on this exam so I'm implementing Jeff's notes a little more this time 🙂

    Using Becker, Ninja Notes, and CpaReviewForFree

    FAR - 87 (2/17)
    REG - 89 (4/21)
    AUD - 89 (5/31)
    BEC - 89 (7/11)

    @whatkey

    I am doing REG too…again…I have Becker, Ninja Notes and the Wiley Test bank. Based on my prior exam I feel I understand the material but do not understand how to pick apart the question. Becker and Ninja is what I used on BEC and Becker on AUD and it worked well for me. YAY FOR BECKER. *High Five*

    LEGEND…wait for it…DARY (just for you Elaine)

    Love Tim, hate hate hate Peter. Sounds like a guido from NJ trying to explain accounting to me. I've wasted so much time having to go back and re-read material that he covers 2-3 times b/c I don't learn anything from his lectures.

    @Mini when you supplemented with Wiley, did you do ALL the Wiley MCQ's? I've only supplemented Becker with Wiley for AUD (great idea btw), but only did about 200-300 questions from Wiley.. I just didn't have enough time to do them all… I've heard Wiley+Becker for REG is awesome… I might do all the MCQ's on both since I am so scared for REG lol

    I love, love, love Peter. He actually takes the time to explain things and give example. Tim is ok.

    I'd guess I did about 20 sets of 20 total, so about 400 questions. Is that close to all of them? How many are there?

    I don't have REG, but AUD is a little over 1,000 questions. Did you pick your weakest topics? Or did you just do random quizzes?

    Only did random questions. I dont know how people “learn” from MCQ. I just used it to keep the material fresh and pick up small nuances here and there regrading the “tricks” they like to throw at you. I thought the SIMS were better preparation for actually understanding the material.
