For those using Becker to study for the CPA exam, and who have actually sat for a section, do the homework problems really help for the exam? Are there similar questions (with different numbers) on the exam in comparison to the homework problems?

They are similar, but have to admit that the Gleim test bank has more of the same exact questions. But that is merely my humble experience..

All the Becker homework problems are old CPA exam questions. The questions on the CPA exam are similar for the type of questions you may receive but not the same exact questions. In other words, the wording and numbers will be different. Also, each exam I have taken there has always been 1 or 2 questions that I have no clue because it was never covered in grad school or Becker. Another thing to remember…is everyone gets a different exam so my experience may not be the same as yours or others.

It may be a coincidence, but my scores on the CPA exam were the same as my average scores on the 100 mcq progress test. I don't think I could have passed the CPA exam without working the homework questions and working the problems a few times. Good luck!

I am using Becker and have passed BEC and FAR so far. I think a better question here is do I think the MCQ prepared me well for the exam and to that I say yes! Practicing them helped me learn how the questions are worded, the tricks to look for, and tested my comprehension. That doesn't mean I saw exact questions with different numbers and there were of course questions that I had never seen before, especially on BEC. Cpareviewforfree.com also offers some additional questions that are worth trying and it's free!

Thank you all for your comments. Where do I go to find the Released CPA questions by the AICPA? I went on the website but could not find it.

Becker for Audit was great. I couldn't believe how similar the questions were. I found a handful which were exactly the same as my Becker study MCQs.

I'll see how BEC compares in two weeks.
