As far as the lectures and outlines Becker provides, I feel very good about the program. I feel prepared for the practice MC questions, feel like I understand conceptual ideas, and score well on the comprehensive tests. Then, when I get to the final exam in the review section, I feel like the problems are all much harder and like they’re asking me “if blue is red and red is green, what’s yellow?”

Do others experience this? I consistently get 75-90 on comprehensive tests of 24 MC in the review section, but just took a final exam and averaged 55 on the MC’s. UGH!

Yellow is purple. It says so in one sentence in the middle of the book.

Honestly, don't worry about the practice exams. The MCQs are much harder than the actual exams, and nobody really gets super high scores on them. On average, you can add about 12-13 points to your practice exam total to approximate your likely result on the actual exam (I ran some regressions at https://www.another71.com/cpa-exam-forum/topic/post-your-becker-final-score-vs-actual-score/page/2#post-428926, if you're interested). There are a couple of people who got in the 50s or low 60s on the Becker practice exams and handily passed the actual exam.

Becker probably makes the practice exams hard on purpose to get people worried so that they buy their expensive Final Review program. Don't freak out. Go over what you missed and learn from it, but realize that the practice exam isn't a magical set of 90 questions that completely determines your success for when you take it for real.

What James said. The real exams are easier than the Becker MCQ's and particularly the final exams.

    BEC 4/08/14 - 92
