Becker or Roger for REG?

    I am planning on starting to prepare for REG on Sunday, 3-2-14 (and take it on 4-24-14), right after I take BEC on 2-28-14 (taking a breather on that Saturday). I have failed REG twice. The first time I used CPAexcel, and the second time I used CPAexcel along with the 10-point combo. I was able to add 13 points to my score the second time but unfortunately that is still a failing score. I am just wondering, should I just use Becker or Roger over CPAexcel? The 10-point combo seems to be quite good and I plan to still use it regardless of which review course I choose. Also, is 7 weeks enough for REG?

    Ever thought about using Yaeger for REG? I am using Yaeger right now and love it. Passed FAR and AUD both on the first try. I am just finishing up my videos now and feel like I have a really good grasp on the material. Personally, I have never used Becker but I've read on the forum that a lot of people felt Becker was not good for REG. What is your learning style?

    @Casagarber

    Honestly, I am not sure what my learning style is lol. I do better when I hear things explained to me, but CPAexcel lectures are so dry and mono-tone that I actually feel I learn more from reading the textbook. And definitely examples, I learn from examples.

    Rogers is pretty lively. That might be a better fit for you. Watch a few clips and see what you prefer. Yaeger can be kind of dry sometimes but he is VERY good about covering everything you need to know on exam day and he is very good with examples and writing everything out on the board. Yaeger's customer service is phenomenal. When l took FAR I called Yaeger to ask a couple questions . Phil Yaeger called me back. He gave me his personal cell and we talked a few more times before my exam. Pretty sure you won't get service like that anywhere else. Every time we'd talk he'd quiz me on different topics to make sure I was “ready” for the exam. The last time I spoke with him he gave me his FAR cram for free…valued at $300. The three Yaeger instructors have some pretty cool backgrounds too. Gary (teaches all of AUD and some of FAR) used to write CPA questions for the AICPA. Cindy (teaches most of FAR and BEC) has around 5 certifications and Phil, well.. he is the man.

    I've only used Becker since it was provided by my employer thankfully. However, I've seen Roger's sample videos and they are more entertaining to me than Becker.

    Although I don't nearly enjoy the Becker video lectures as I did with the sample Roger videos, I still managed to pass AUD on the first try for my first ever CPA exam experience. Hopefully subsequent exams will have the same results.

    Despite what review materials you use, I am sure they cover all the important concepts that will be tested on the exam. It's just a matter of how well you can learn and retain the concepts taught.

    AUD - 01/18/14 - 81
    BEC - 05/29/14 - 85
    FAR - 07/18/14 - 81
    REG - 11/18/14 - 80
