I’m using Becker and so far is working out for me. I passed FAR on my first try. However, I’m getting a little bit concerned about BEC preparation. I just finished covering chapter 3 from BEC and have 2 more chapters to go. However, I’m reading from several people that Becker does a poor job preparing for BEC. Any feedback from those who prepared with Becker?

I used Becker so far for all my studies and passed BEC and FAR with it, hopefully passed AUD as well. I too thought I may not pass with Becker's teaching of BEC. I supplemented with cpareviewforfree.com as well as pulling out some of my college notes on cost accounting, which I have never mastered and probably never will. I decided about 2 weeks into my studying, I only studied 4 weeks full time, for BEC just to continue with Becker and if I fail I'll get Yaeger or something since I don't have any extra money after paying for Becker. I walked out of the test center feeling okay and didn't think I failed, but figured I would be close to borderline and I was surprised with my score. I would say if you are 60% of the way through with Becker and your test date is close, maybe try the Yaeger cram or something to that effect if you still cannot master some of the concepts since I found that the Becker Final Review is the same basic thing as the normal Becker but just condensed. Best of luck!

Thanks Michelle119 for your advise! I think I'm going to stick with Becker and supplement it with cpareviewforfree.com 🙂

I'm also studying with Becker for BEC at the moment and was also getting worried after listening to people, but I plan to stick with Becker for now and supplement with Gleim and cpareviewforfree. If I fail of course I'll try something else, but so far I like Becker.

I had the same doubt after reading people's comments about the insufficient preparation using Becker, but I cannot afford any additional review material. I passed BEC with 84 using only Becker… I think it depends on your study style and also some other factors. I took about 25 pages of notes. (mostly formula and tables I made for comparison) I also used the note cards from Becker. Becker worked out for me.
