Becker final review strategy?

What was everyone’s strategy for the Becker final review? I have 2 and a half weeks allocated for the final review coming up and I definitely want to ensure I handle it properly.

    – How much time did you have left for review?

    – Did you re-do all the MCQ’s for each chapter? Or just specific chapters?

    – How about the sims?

    – Flashcards help at all?

    – What did you do after your Final Exam 1 and 2? Did you just go over the parts you did poorly on?

Re-doing 10 chapters work of MCQ’s seems like a lot to be honest, but I am interested to see what everyone else’s strategy was. I definitely want to tackle the optional MCQ’s because I skipped over those while studying. Also, I want to make it a point to memorize the important journal entries.

I would appreciate any and all tips.

It all depends on how much time you have to study. For REG, BEC, and AUD, 2.5 weeks was more than enough time for final review, in fact I only spent about four weeks each studying for BEC and AUD. At least for me FAR is by far the most difficult because of the sheer amount of material. By the time you get to F10 good luck remembering half of F1.

    To answer your questions specifically…

1.) Usually 1 – 2 weeks, though if you are working full-time and trying to take FAR more time may be necessary

2.) Yes. At least twice, ideally three times if possible and as many times as it takes for the weaker areas with a lot of questions. You can really get a decent gauge on the areas that are more heavily tested than others simply by taking note of the number of questions in each module and focusing your attention on mastering those areas.

3.) I always use the sims to help supplement my review because if you aren't familiar with the content then there's no point in worrying about them. Master the concepts presented in the materials and then the MCQ, then worry about the sims. At the very least study the research questions and get an idea how to tackle those questions.

4.) Firm paid for Becker, so no way am I springing for a bunch of flash cards that seem to get mixed reviews. You can make your own with a pen and a pack of index cards.

5.) Relax – if you've followed the Becker program you will be prepared to pass.

Sorry I forgot to note I am on FAR. Would 2.5 weeks still be enough?

Honestly, I study almost all day. I take it one chapter a week and I try and develop as thorough an understanding as possible but, quite frankly, I am a slow studier and there is an insane amount of content in the chapters of course.
