I am currently studying for my first section of the CPA using Becker. My question is on the Final Mock exams that Becker provides. Do they provide an explanation (of right and wrong answers) for all the questions like the homework? Or do they just show you the weak areas, without showing correct answers?

I am trying to decide if they are worth spending the time to complete. If they don’t show the correct answers I am not sure I will get enough from them given the amount of time they take to complete.

Not question by question do they give you explanations for each problem, but after you've hit submit on your final testlet you can go back and look at each problem and review what you got right and what you got wrong. There are explanations for each problem… I would highly recommend doing a practice exam and try to mimic what exam day is going to be like. This is a good opportunity for you to learn how to pace yourself on the exam and learn the format of the exam.

I think it is worth doing if you have enough time. They are new questions that are difficult.

I found the mock final exams were a good way for me to go through and double check that I was actually prepared for exam day. It gives you new questions to look at so you can be sure that you have actually learned concepts, not just memorized questions. Once you have taken the entire final exam, you can go back and see the explanations for the questions you got wrong. I'll be honest, I never actually did the Simulations on the final exams, as I felt if I really knew the concepts, I could do the simulations. I was able to pass all sections the first time using this approach. In my experience, A Becker final that is at least in the 70's will translate to a score in the 80's on actual exam day.

I am having trouble actually getting to these in 2017 Becker software-I click on them but nothing happens-any one else had that issue? I already e-mailed Becker about it but haven't heard from them yet…
