I took the 1st Becker Final Exam Simulation for the Audit today, my test is schedule for October 7th. I got:

    Audit Final Exam #1 Results

    # of Questions # Correct % Correct

    Testlet #1 – M/C Questions 30 27 90

    Testlet #2 – M/C Questions 30 28 93

    Testlet #3 – M/C Questions 30 26 86

    Testlet #4 – Simulation 1

    “Risk” Tab 10 9 90

    “Internal Control” Tab 5 5 100

    “Tickmarks” Tab 8 7 87

    “Statistical Sampling” Tab 10 10 100

    “Comparative Financial Statements” Tab 16 12 75

    “Government Auditing” Tab 5 3 60

    “Research” Tab 1 1 100

Can anyone give me an idea of what Ill score on the real test? Am I in decent shape or should I be in panic mode? This is my section I’ve ever taken so I really have no experience to draw on. I also finished in 2 and a half hours, is this normal?

    Thank Guys

From what I'm gathering, it's almost impossible to correlate a practice final exam with the real exam due to weighting, pre-test questions, etc.

Your grasp on the information looks really good though. Not to rain on your parade or anything, but try Final Exam 2 and then see how you feel. That one seems to be significantly harder. If you're still doing well after that, you're probably REALLY set.

    FAR 07/27/11 - 87
    AUD 10/01/11 - 85
    BEC 11/15/11 - 87
    REG 01/03/12 - 92

I used becker and my scores were a little lower than yours. I managed an 85 so I believe you are in good shape. Just keep at it until your exam.

I used Becker and I think for final exam 1 for Audit I got around the same scores. I ended up getting a very high score on the actual exam. Don't get comfortable, because you and I could get very different exams, but I think if someone is scoring as well as you are it means you have a very good grasp on the material and how the questions for the exam work. Definitely not grounds for panic mode. You'll score better if you're not panicking, anyways. Don't let the second final exam get you down — I was in the 90s on the first one and in the 70s on the second. As long as you're doing well in your MCQs, you'll be fine. Good luck!

Well, those final exam scores aren't worth much – but since you asked.

You scored significantly higher than I did on almost every part of Final Exam 1, and you can see how my score turned out. However, don't let off the gas now – study, study, study until you take the exam. Then party. Good luck!

@Chech4, can I ask you how you did that Simulation for Tickmarks?! I only got 3 right on that SIM. Is there a general “code” of tickmarks where the symbols mean the same thing on every audit?

    AUD 81 (X4) Previous scores 59, 72, 72
    REG 80 (X3) Previous scores 59, 60
    FAR 75 (X2) Previous score 67
    BEC 79 (X2) Previous score 58

    @Peanut

since I'm procrastinating studying for REG…

There is no general “code” for the tickmarks, but you have to pay attention to what they are next to. For example, the beginning balances all had the same symbol next to it, so it makes sense (based on the options) that they were tracing to the prior year's audit documentation. All ending balances have the arrow next to it, so there it makes sense that you're tracing to the current year documentation. All the provisions have the same symbol next to them, and provisions are estimates, so, based on the other options, it makes sense that it means “tested for reasonableness.” I think what they're trying to get you to do at that point is understand what sort of auditing needs to be done for the different numbers, and the tickmark with the correct audit procedures is the one you're supposed to pick.
