    Wow, I didn’t do so hot on Becker’s REG final exam 1:

    Testlet 1: 16/24 = 67%

    Testlet 2: 19/24 = 79%

    Testlet 3: 16/24 = 67%

    Testlet 4:

    Medical deductions = 3/4

    Casualty Losses = 4/5

    Tax Treatments 1 = 7/10

    Tax Treatments 2 = 5/5

    Research tab = 0 (asked about refund for state income tax and couldn’t find it anywhere…)

    Tax Issues = 5/9

    My plan is to just go over this exam today and write out note cards like usual. Should I be worried?

    For anyone who has taken the REG exam and also used Becker, how do the MCQ compare?

    Thanks!

    Jeff

    Second Becker Final Exam:

    Testlet 1: 83%

    Testlet 2: 95%

    Testlet 3: 54%

    Little bit better…

    Someone else just asked a few days ago how Becker finals compare to real scores. My theory from prior experience (mine and a friend who passed all 4) was that your actual test scores were somewhere around 8-13 points higher than the Becker finals (first try, no cheating by looking up answers).

    However, it didn't hold true for me for my REG score.

    Here's my personal comparison:

    AUD Becker finals, 78 and 80: Actual exam score 93

    REG Becker finals, 80 and 82: Actual exam score 84

    I score your first final at 71 (weighting the MCQ and SIMS 60/40). My new theory is that you're probably not going to score WORSE on the real thing. It's possible you could score +10 or more on the real thing. So, I would say you're anywhere from really close right now to possibly scoring in the 80's. That's not very helpful for you though.

    Just keep at it the next few days. You can't really go wrong by doing more MCQ's, a really good overall review by taking written notes of basic and repeating concepts in all the material/modules, or practicing extra SIMS for REG.

    Good luck!

    That is much better than what I had the night before I took Reg and I passed… like the person above said just stick with the MCQs and you should be fine.

    AUD: 80 (Expires Feb. 2014)
    REG: 71, 79
    BEC: 8/24/2013
    FAR: 10/31/2013

    I was scoring high 80s on the final exams and ended up with a 94 if that makes you feel better! I scored higher on all four sections than I did on my Becker finals.

    Biggest piece of advice I would give someone taking the exam is leave as much time for the sims as possible! When they are full of blanks where you have to fill in a calculated number, you will be grateful for the extra time to recheck your calcs.

    AUD - 99 (5/2013)
    BEC - 93 (5/2013)
    FAR - 97 (7/2013)
    REG - 94 (8/2013)

    FutureCPA,

    I just did the same test and I missed a lot of points by not being Detailed orientated and not reading the answers full (I had a cup of coffee which makes my mind unclear sometimes)

    My score was

    MC test 1 == 62

    MC test 2 == 79

    MC test 3 == 79

    Sim 1 == 50

    Sim 2 == 100

    sim 3 == 80

    sim 4 == 60

    Sim 5 == 0 ( codification)

    sim 6 == 45.

    People say the exam is a little easier.. I am having doubts about that now!!!

    FAR 78
    REG 87
    BEC 78
    AUD 78
    Passed all exams on first try! Good luck to everyone!

    Here's my results on the first becker final. Did horrible on the first testlet. I'll take the second one tomorrow. I've been doing becker progress tests, finishing up the wiley mcq's and just started doing sims last week, so hopefully I'll do a lot better on the next one. The becker sims on the final seemed a lot easier than the one's I've been getting for Wiley. The research took up a half hour and I still couldn't find it.

    Testlet #1 – 50%

    Testlet #2 – 83%

    Testlet #3 – 71%

    Testlet #4

    Simulation 1 – 100%

    Simulation 2 – 80%

    Simulation 3 – 80%

    Simulation 4 – 80%

    Simulation 5 – 0% (Research SIM)

    Simulation 6 – 100%

    Overall Score 70%.

    I scored an overall 77% on the first Becker Final for REG and an 80 on the second and ended up with a 95 on the actual exam only four days later. I would guess that you're fine as long as you are thorough in reading questions and don't make too many unnecessary mistakes.

    67% 16/24 – T1

    67% 16/24 – T2

    75% 18/24 – T3

    75% – “Medical Deductions”

    80% – “Casualty Losses”

    70% – “Tax Treatments 1”

    100% – “Tax Treatments 2”

    0 – Research

    78% – “Tax Issues”

    A few missed questions were due to rushing/missing the details. Also, I must admit I was not caffeinated up fro this, haha. Overall, I feel confident about the material and will be doing MCQs/Rereading the chapters over the next few days.

    That research question was ridiculous btw…lol

    Totally agree regarding the research question. I spent 30 minutes trying to figure out where it was until i just made a guess and I was wrong. Hopefully I'll find it Thursday!

    From personal experience and from what I've seen here, you can generally add between 10-20 points to the average of your Final Exam MC sections to get your exam score. I've generally averaged in the high 60s for Becker's final exams and you can see my scores in my signature. Here's hoping this continues with FAR on Friday. Good luck on your test!

    Before I took FAR, I got a 75 on the first final and an 83 on the second final. On the actual exam, I got an 89.

    I just took the first Becker Final Exam and got the following:

    MC 1: 71

    MC 2: 71

    MC 3: 67

    Sims

    Medical 100%

    Casualty 40% (misread)

    Tax treatment 1: 90%

    Tax treatment 2: 80%

    Tax Issues: 78%

    Research 0%

    I found the MCs to be much harder than the Review and SIMS easier except the research which was extremely hard.

    This thing just totally shattered my confidence. Should I take the other one or not? I'm testing Wed at 4 pm

    @doover I don't know why your confidence is shattered as you seem to be in great shape. As the other posters have mentioned, you actually score at least 10 pts higher than Becker on the real thing. So just relax and do the second exam. You'll do great on Wednesday, Good Luck!
