Becker Question –

time to compare results 😀 For those who passed/failed/haven’t taken it yet, what do you get? Specifically, #2 as I’ve read the exam is more like #2.

test #1 – 83, 79, 70

test #2 – 75, 79, 79

I've heard the second exam is harder than the actual exam, but I just took it and got 79, 67, 75. Not too worried about it to be honest, I'll just read over the material that covers what I missed.

I got a 90 for the 1st test and a 79 average for the second. 88 actual. I think you'll be alright.

I took Exam #1 days ago. I was surprised I got less than 60% when I was planning to take the real exam next week.

So I studied hard since then, making notes and doing progress test three times. The results of progress test were all over 80%. I felt like I got 5 or more same questions thru three progress tests. I don't know if questions are selected totally random in each area.

Then, I took Exam #2 today. It was less than 60% again… I was thinking to place the exam on Wednesday if I could get more than 65% today.

I was studying the material focusing on MC. I didn't read the textbook deeper if not tested in MC. And I felt R5-R8 were tested more than 20%.

If I keep doing progress test, maybe it contains a lot of easy questions and not effective way to be able to answer questions in Final Exams.

I wouldn't go on my % correct from progress tests. You've already seen these questions at least once before, probably more than that. Yes, the Becker Final Exams are usually harder than the real tests, but I have averaged a passing score on all four tests that I've taken (BEC exams 1 and 2, and AUD 1 and 2). Progress tests are good for keeping the information fresh in your mind, but you have to be able to apply it to new questions.

I'm not saying you won't pass. Plenty of people average in the 60s on the practice tests and get in the 80s on the actual exam, but it's always good to be able to pass the practice ones as well.

I took the 2nd practice exam yesterday and averaged 62. I think I was more around 75-80 on the 1st one. To me it seemed like the practice exams covered completely different topics, so hopefully the actual exam is a more even mix of topics. The question wording was very confusing, but that will probably be the way it is on the exam too. I made stupid mistakes that I need to be careful of, and I can't for the life of me keep straight the effects of foreign currency appreciation/depreciation.

I am not too upset with my poor score, I had similar results on FAR/AUD and found the actual exam much less intense. I personally like the fact that Becker is much harder, it certainly does a good job preparing me. I haven't spent much time on the WC, hoping that will not come back to haunt me.

4 more study days…time for Final Review.
