Becker FastPass Course?

I have a friend that is considering signing up for the Becker FastPass Course this summer. For those who are unfamiliar with FastPass, it’s an intensive 2 month long review course where all 4 parts of the exam are presented to you in lectures.

Does anyone have experience with this or know a friend who had any experience with this?

    Thanks!

I knew a friend and she is a lot quicker and more diligent than I am when it came to studying this test and grasping the material. But even she said it was way too fast and she barely had time to grasp any of the more difficult concepts. From my perspective I would have no idea how anyone can study and retain all the information for each test in 2 weeks just too much information for that to be possible.

Also, looks like another thread from awhile ago was setup asking the same question and a lot of people seemed to have really good comments/points:

I took it. I failed 3 and passed 1. My friend took it and passed all 4. It just depends why you are taking it and what you want to achieve. I took it as a class and got an A for the class, so I would definitely do it again for that reason, but I would not have taken it without the college credit factor. It was not enough time for me to study.

Is it just me or does anybody else think there's something wrong with failing 3 out of 4 exams and getting an A?

If the average Joe could study for 2 months, and pass all 4 parts of the exam, the CPA designation wouldn't worth any more than the series 7 exam.

I did the Atlanta Intensive for 3 of the exams and passed all of them.
Decided to try BEC on my own with just the software following the same guidelines as the intensive and passed.
I also know people who were there with me and failed it all.

If you can dedicate two weeks of studying non stop and taking the call you can pass.

I think there's something wrong with a State Board accepting an exam prep class as accounting credits, but perhaps that's just me.

Let me rephrase, If the average Joe could study for 2 months and pass all 4 parts of the exam, this website wouldn't exist.

Thanks for all your replies. I guess it's just a toss-up then based on the individual's study ethics and prior knowledge?

A mixture of things really. I had some prior experience, but do not have the best study habits. But i decided if i was going to spend all this money and time off of work i was going to pass. I studied all day every day for the whole time i was there and it worked out. I always have been a pretty good test taker.
It's different for everyone, no guarantee it will work, just stating it did for me.

I always really enjoy reading posts and I especially like the assumptions everyone makes about other people. I have a very high GPA. Becker FastPass was a test class and passing the exams was not part of the grade- we were just required to take them. Some schools offer each part as a whole class. This class was all the work in FastPass as one class. My uncle passed in March, my aunt passed in May the week of my AUD exam. They had no children except me, and I had to handle all the arrangements. Luckily, no one died before I took REG, but then my best friend died the week before BEC, and my dad died the week I took FAR. By the end of the summer, it was a running joke that I should quit killing off people with my exams. For anyone speculating about my study habits, you can kiss it. Sometimes $hit happens that we can’t control.

Hope y’all have a great day (in my sweetest TN accent) !
