me too, okie !
Using Becker. Can't say whether I like it or not, but I'm not getting the FAR questions right. Very, very discouraging!
How in the world are we supposed to answer these questions in under 2 minutes?

March 6, 2012 at 8:02 am #330220GVirgiLMembernfs480… becker is great at going into depth about every topic that is covered on the exam… but i would use Wiley test bank onlne 2012 to practice the problems…. i used becker for BEC , the first time around. second time around i used ninja notes and wiley test bank. i went through every single question. this did take up 5 full weekends of my time. but it was quite worth it. i have not gotten my reults yet. i just retook it feb 29. but i felt 1000 times more confident on thist test and i never touched my becker materials the second time around.
March 6, 2012 at 8:07 am #330221GVirgiLMemberthat was just for BEC…. i hear becker is good for aud far and reg……i guess i will have to find out im starting to study for FAR now, aiming for April May testing window latest July. im using becker 2012 and wiley book as well. i also plan on buying the ninja notes and test bank… i am spending alot of money but id rather spend the extra cash on the review materials rather than the re app and testing fees .
March 6, 2012 at 8:15 am #330222nfs480MemberSounds good, using Becker 2012 now for FAR. Haven't taken any sections yet so i'm hoping i'm preparing well enough.

March 6, 2012 at 11:37 am #330223scottietMemberI've been there, TAKE YOUR TIME. I noticed that instead of getting frustrasted, moving to the next section and hoping that one clicks better….it doesn't. Watch the lectures multiple time, to the point you want to strangle Gearty. Checkmark the questions you're having problems with and try to firgure out what you're doing wrong.

I'm using all the same products as you are – Becker, Wiley, and Ninja.
I'm sick about the money I'm spending, especially since I'm studying full time and not working, but that's also the reason I can't leave any of this to chance. I need every resource I can get to be sure I'm fully prepared.
And, yes, I'd rather spend the time and money on additional preparation material, than spend the time, money and additional stress of re-testing.
And, Scottiet –
thanks for reinforcing “take your time”. I've been so ready to get through this, so that I can get on with my life.
But, I'm realizing the FASTEST way to get through it, is actually to take my time, because rushing is not productive. It only adds stress and prevents me from learning it thoroughly.
My advice to myself is relax, focus, and just study. It takes as long as it takes.

I would also recommend doing lots of progress test for EACH section, I'm sure you're not going to want to and it will feel really repetitive. But you'll be happy you did 2 or 3 weeks before your exam.

BEC- 83 10/19/12March 7, 2012 at 6:15 pm #330227TuxMemberScottiet, thanks for the tip on doing lots of progress tests. I'm willing to do that.
I have not done the progress tests, because I'm afraid to get too familiar with the questions, then I'll know all the answers, just because I've memorized them, and not because I really know the information – Or, should I say – I won't know if I really know the information if I've memorized all the questions.
Do you get different questions in each progress test, no matter how may times you do it?
Should I not be afraid of running into the same questions over and over?
On the other hand, if I run out of questions in Becker, I guess that's what I have Wiley for, huh?
Thanks for the advice!

Wiley test bankMarch 7, 2012 at 7:24 pm #330228AnonymousInactiveI've took FAR in 2007, Aug'11, and Feb'12, each time covered a different portion of material from Becker. The MCQ's can be very unexpected depending on the luck of the draw on the exam and so killing yourself over getting a 90% on Becker wasn't helpful to me.
If you're taking 12 hours a section to do Becker MCQ's, just start printing them out, read the question, and if you can't get the answer without looking at multiple choice, don't waste time on it. Take the time to read the reasons for each answer being write and wrong and I think you'll get more out of it. I would then follow back through the text one more time to make sure any question notes didn't conflict with your reading notes. I saved hours this way and I had all the questions memorized in no time without being influenced by the familiarity of recognizing the answer from the list of provided answers. If that makes sense. Hard part though, you have to go through Becker atleast one more time to get the TFCH so this requires planning ahead.
