Becker CPA Review vs Roger CPA Review: I’ve used this site for awhile and honestly, have never contributed outside of asking questions. So I thought I’d share my experience for anyone else who may be in a similar position.

I started with Becker when I first started and found it difficult to use because it was so boring. After Becker expired, I did some real research on review courses (I just defaulted to Becker like most people). I found Roger and choose mainly because I heard the lectures weren’t that boring and the price was right.

The change was pretty quick for me and I ended up passing all 4 parts in a year after the change in review courses. I didn’t know if this was because I was just ready to get it over with or if Roger was that much better.

My conclusion was that it had to be a combination of both but also largely had to do with Roger CPA Review. Becker was very deflating for me. Looking at Peter Olinto in his suit just made me question my decision to be an accountant. Additionally, I felt that Becker just read the book, I didn’t get alot out of the lectures.

Lastly, I found that keeping the studying process as simple as possible worked for me. I got to wrapped up in making index cards, writing notes, all of which I rarely ever actually reviewed. My textbooks became my bible, all my notes went in the book, HW notes went in the book. I found it beneficial to have everything in one place.

Good Luck to everyone. Don’t throw in the towel on test day no matter what. Give the SIMs all you have. I quit on myself before during the exam and could have saved myself alot of trouble if I had just not beaten myself up so much during the test.

Lecture over, back to 13 reasons why.

I have this same experience. I tried to use Becker in 2011 and couldn't pass. Now I'm using Roger and actually passing them. Roger makes it interesting and you actually learn it!

I passed a few with Becker but I got super sick of using them. You're right, dry dry dry lectures with nothing to gain except making you write a bunch of notes scattered all over the place and highlighting. Not much value in that. I attribute me passing to doing the HW. I'm switching to Roger.
