Just thought I’d share a strategy that I’ve been using — I haven’t gotten any scores back yet, but it does help me feel more comfortable with the material.
Instead of starting from scratch in writing notes, I re-type the Becker class notes. While I’m doing it, I go through the book and add things like mnemonics and formulas that are marked as important but are not included in the class notes summary. I find it takes less time than writing up notes from scratch, but it still gets your brain working as you go through the text to find the points you think (or know based on MCQs) are important but that aren’t included in the course notes. The repetition is great for remembering material. Then, once you have the notes all typed up, it is a great way to do a final review of the material the night before the exam!
I also find that just reading the notes themselves helps me get the big picture of a topic. Sometimes you get so caught up in the highlighting and random facts to memorize that you don’t completely grasp the big picture as you’re going through the lecture. This reviews what you just watched/highlighted in a way where you can actually grasp the big picture that they are trying to teach you.
Maybe this helps someone?
