Some of these questions in the supplementary test bank are ridiculous. I am going through the questions my second time through and am still having trouble. For people that have used Becker and can remember the section that I am talking about, was there anything on the exam comparable to these questions or were they relatively easier in nature.

The actual exam is easier. For the supplemental questions, I only do them once and if I know it great, if i don't, then learn from the answer, but I don't re-do the supplemental questions. Have been using this strategy for BEC and passed on my first try.

I would just focus on the topic MCQ, for the supplemental, do it once and then that should be sufficient in my opinion 🙂

I never do supplementary questions, unless they end up in my Simulated Exams/Progress Tests. Worked for me so far.

Does anyone know if it is important to memorize those formulas in the Financial Valuation topic of B3? The PEG ratio, P/E ratio, etc. It would seem very unfair for the AICPA to test on something that minuscule.

I have been using Becker for all my prep, and that is my experience as well. Took BEC in August and passed with an 86 and FAR with 84. I actually did go through the supplementary MCQ on BEC, but only near the end of my review just to see some new problems.

The actual exam is definitely not as hard as some of the Becker questions can be. Rather than focus on the obscure exceptions and such, I would go through all major topics. The exam is only 3 hours, so they try not to be too picky but it is still thorough. If you're running short on time, feel free to skip the supplementals (if I recall correctly BEC didn't even have that many). FAR has a ton. But if you have time, go over the supplementals and review what you struggled with.

I personally went through all the questions once, and maybe reworked a few odd questions here and there on topics I did poorly on the first time, but I learn from my mistakes and am a decent test taker. Depending on your learning style you may have to do more or less. Don't make the mistake of letting the Becker review intimidate you. Good luck!

@Beckeruser: I had some questions on ratios. If they hurt your brain, then I would give it a pass and focus on what you understand well. If you have time until your exam, definitely go through them. They aren't too complicated anyway.

I just went through the B3 supplemental mcqs for the first time and I was blown away by their difficulty. Reading these posts has made me feel a little better that the chance of similar questions showing up on exam day is not as likely as I had originally thought.

Thanks for sharing – good to know. I was feeling “ok” on Sunday and then started doing supplemental questions last night and am now back in panic mode. I can't wait for this exam to be over. 🙁
