So I’m retaking REG in a couple weeks after a horrible experience the first time around. The simulations absolutely destroyed me on this exam. They were completely out of left field, as were many of the MCQs. I personally feel Becker did a horrible job at preparing me for this exam. On the other hand, I felt Becker was more than adequate for AUD & BEC (and this isn’t just because I passed those and failed REG). Some topics simply aren’t covered in Becker, or aren’t stressed enough. Has anyone else come across this problem with REG? I recently bought the Wiley Test Bank just to have an extra source of questions, but I really don’t feel like purchasing more study materials. Afterall, they’re quite expensive.

I mastered the Becker material, including the ancillary material, and was completely taken off guard with the exam I just took 4 hours ago…

I am pretty sure one of my MCQ and one sim were meant for FAR, but I guess they were test questions.

But a lot of my questions were very bizarre. I don't feel good about the exam.. but then again, apparently no one does when they leave.

REG: 75
BEC: 87
AUD: 90

I feel the same way as you. I thought I had everything down pat.

I would say 20-25 percent of my questions were about either CPA ethical responsibilities, Circular 230, or 1933 & 1934.

I guess you never know what to expect.

I thought I would dig up this old thread because I thought it was important… I MASTERED the Becker material(2011) and as you can see, barely passed.. I also studied roughly 200 hours..

I would HIGHLY recommend supplementing Becker /w something else for REG. That is just my opinion, there are plenty of people who did much better than me with just Becker alone.

I took REG yesterday..the secret is nothing is ancillary. 😀

Had quite a few “out of left field” questions.

I only used Becker for AUD and REG.

I passed AUD, I'll let you guys know if I pass REG.
