    Becker Question. –

I will be taking AUD this coming Sat. Overall, I kinda feel prepared but very frustrated with A4 SIMS (different transaction cycle and audit procedures and assurance etc). I feel like I cannot fully understand this concept and now I am worry I won’t pass this exam again.

AHHHH —- who recently took the AUD exam and have any advice or encouragement to share?

    Thanks!

you will be fine. I used Becker for the most part. It wouldnt hurt to get another test bank to practice more MC. For the SIMs, just try to utilize the AL

I honestly felt like I knew nothing going into the exam. Becker will get you there! Dont fret over sims, just remember to use the AI for sims in AUD.

    AUD: 02/28/15 - 89
    FAR: 05/29/15 - 80
    BEC: 08/03/15 - 81
    REG: 08/27/15 - 76

what other test bank did you use? NINJA? And how much time did you leave for SIMS? Thanks!!

i did not use NINJA but i hear that it is great and you can probably tell that it is really helpful from this forum. I used Wiley (which I borrowed from a friend) which had a couple questions that were the same as Becker but the ones that werent were helpful. It doesnt really matter where you get the questions though if your just using it as a supplement.

I dont remember exactly but I think I left at least 2 hours for the SIMs. I didnt use the whole time, but I used a lot of it. I think its better to go through the MC as fast as possible because its not good to dwell on one or two MC because there are obviously going to be questions that you arent going to be unsure of. Its important to do well on the SIMs because you cant pass w/o doing well on the SIMs.

Ya definitely, if possible leave super extra time for the SIMs if you're worried because they are usually pretty well explained within the AL. Consider Becker, many SIMs don't have numbers so you don't even need to apply and think about it as much sometimes, you can just look in the standards for report requirements, disclosures, procedures, responsibilities, etc. Obviously best to learn it, but AUD AL is the most clutch.

That said, don't bail on the MCQs lol.

@spatel15 – what do you mean by AUD AL? LOL!

I am just reading over the Becker book now and then re-do the SIMS…I plan to do more MCQ tomorrow. I feel like I am still very weak at A4 when I do the SIMS…..AHHH!

I was going to make a separate thread, i just passed BEC and am taking AUD in a week or so, every section seems to be fair except managements assertions for specific transaction cycles. Should you try to memorize the key words(inspection, observation, tracing, etc) for each assertions (coveru) auditing procedure?? Also, I am not having an issue with tracing is a forward test in which its tests completion, starts with source documents and traces toward the financial statement. Vouching testing existence, going from the fin. statement toward the source document. But when im asked questions in this topic im never fully sure, for example i read and explanation stating that vouch and trace can be used synonymously in that the word trace doesn't signify test for completeness, but for existence? thanks for any help
