Hey all,

I’m taking AUD next Wednesday. I just finished up A6 today, and I haven’t reviewed much at all yet (that’s what these last 10 days are for). But I was so anxious to gauge my progress, I went ahead and took the first practice exam from Becker. Here are my scores:

Testlet 1: 83

Testlet 2: 80

Testlet 3: 76 For an average of 80

SIM 1: 70

SIM 2: 100

SIM 3: 75

SIM 4: 80

SIM 5: 100

SIM 6: 60 (This was on government auditing. I absolutely hate this and do not understand it).

SIM 7: 100 For an average of 83

My BEC scores were much higher than this for Final Exam 1, and I scored around the same on the exam (88). I have not put in nearly as much effort with AUD as I did with BEC. Frankly, I was just so burned out from the hundreds of hours I put in for BEC, and I don’t like the AUD material near as much. Anyway, that’s neither here nor there! I am going to review everything extensively these next few days and take the second practice exam, but does anyone have any feedback on this for me, or want to compare results? Keely, I am pretty sure those scores represent enough knowledge to pass the CPA exam. I habitually scour the forums for that kind of information, and I have seen people with lower scores pass the exam! I am not quite where you are, but I will let you know my scores when I take it.

Looks to me like you are good to go! I can't remember for certain what I got on the practice exams, I know I did better on the first than the second, which made me mad. But I'm thinking first exam was mostly high 70's, maybe some low 80's. Funny how quickly we forget…

I think you're doing really well! Here were my practice exam scores:

Exam 1: 83, 86, 73 (SIMS average: 74)

Exam 2: 67, 63, 86 (SIMS average: 68)

I got an 87 on the actual exam. I took the first practice exam about 4 days before my actual exam, and I took the second practice exam about 2 days before the actual exam. So if you still have 10 days to review, I think you're pretty much golden! Good Luck!

Thanks everyone. That's encouraging! Does anyone have any suggestions to better understand transaction cycles? They are killing me. I've reread the Becker book and redone the MCQs and I still don't feel like I grasp the concepts entirely. Now I'm really starting to freak out!

Wow you guys are scoring much higher than I was using Becker : ) My first prac test was 76, 71, 76 and second was 70, 66, 77. So if you're getting those scores you should be fine! Good luck!

Ok, here's my Becker Simulated AUD Test 1:

Sim 7: 0 (Research: I picked the explanatory paragraph example which specifically mentioned depreciation rather than the general advice just above it…this lack of objectivity scares me).

I had the same problem with the research question today today when taking the Final Exam 2. I picked the paragraph that described what was needed instead of the example paragraph. How can either be wrong? I can't imagine it would be counted wrong in the real exam, but whatever. Its too late now. I got 87, 73, and 83 on the testlets. I truly haven't studied as much as I should, and I don't exactly deserve to pass…but I'm going to try my luck anyway. BDO, you're sitting tomorrow too right? Good luck!!!

Yet to take the 2nd practice exam, but got this for practice exam 1:

Sim 1: 50 even though I should know better

Sim 3: 25 – Have no clue about these tickmarks.

Apparently no one understands govt. auditing…luckily I didn't need to for my exam. I would be more concerned with the theoretical knowledge of it, rather than an entire sim dedicated to it (just my experience). Basically, read the chapter again and try to remember the high points. I ended up with a 91 on the exam, even though I did not feel good about it once I left. Judging from y'all's scores, I think you'll do well.
