Has anyone passed AUD using just Becker (with no auditing experience)?

I finished all the MCQ’s and I’m starting the note writing/understanding everything process and I’m extremely overwhelmed. I’m trying to match the book up to the NINJA Notes and I don’t even know where to start. Becker seems to be all over the place.. and dry.

This is my last exam and I would hate to let AUD get in the way of being completely done.

    - passed all 4 exams on my first try using Becker!

I agree that Becker is all over the place!!! And the index for AUD sucks. They cover the same topic in multiple areas of the book and it's impossible to go back and cross-reference stuff. Sorry…rant over.

I know lots of tax people who have passed AUD on their first try using only Becker, so it can be done! AUD is also my last exam, so I'm in the same boat as you. Good luck!!!

I used Becker 2013 version B to study and added in Wiley online mcqs about 2 weeks before my exam. Got an 89.

@barelystayingsane Yeah even with FAR, although there was alot of information, it was at least organized (i.e., each chapter was a clear topic). I literally have no idea what AUD is talking about ..

I'm thinking I may have to push back my exam 🙁 I really wanted to have it done by the 16th so I won't have to do much studying during work but I really don't see how it's possible to understand this info in only 2.5 weeks (I'm missing a week of studying for first-year training).

@CPA_Driven I was really hoping to not have to go down that route, I feel like any additional questions will make me feel even worse (clouding my head with even more info). Did you use WTB for the other sections?

ALSO, are you guys/did you work will studying?

    Thanks!

I passed with only Becker self-study, while taking 2 graduate tax classes. I have no audit experience. I somehow got a 97 on the exam which was a pleasant surprise, but it can be done! Good luck!

For those of you who've passed with Becker, How similar did you find the questions in terms of difficulty?

@BirdsCPA Congrats! Must've been tough, grad tax is no fun.

I passed with an 86 using Becker A in May. No audit experience. I thought the homework covered about 75% of what I got on the exam. Becker does a good job of training you how to answer the questions. My test mcq went med- hard -hard.

    Reg - Passed 82 Nov 2012 - Becker
    Aud - Passed 86 May 2013 - Becker
    BEC - Passed 88 Aug 2013 - Becker
    FAR - Passed 88 Nov 2013 - Becker

@3Down1ToGO I've used Wiley online test bank for all three exams I've taken so far. I thought it was invaluable for FAR and REG but not so helpful for AUD. I thought Becker mcqs were VERY similar to my exam. There was 1 mcq that was word for word. I work full time and have two kids so my study time is limited – I spent 4 months studying for AUD. I think AUD is tricky but if you focus on the concepts and try to really understand what Becker covers you'll be able to handle what they throw at you. My advice is spend less time memorizing mnemonics – which I found pointless come exam day for AUD – and try understand the concepts. It's really not a picky detailed test- it's very conceptual. Becker did a good job covering AUD.
