    Hey! First timer here.

Anyone else using Becker for BEC feel like they’ve pushed a wheelbarrow full of bricks up a steep hill after going thru the MCQs. 132 question testlets are taking me approx. 3-4 hours to get thru. My exam is next Friday (8.30.13) – I’ve passed FAR & REG, waiting on my AUD grade (thanks NASBA) and am seriously doubting the effectiveness of my studying.

Just keep pushing forward. There's a point in your studying where things just start clicking.

Churn out MCQ's until you puke. And write notes on them. And then keep doing them. KNOW THE FORMULAS. Get flashcards and keep rewriting those bad boys down until they're fully ingrained.

Once you get the memorization of formulas and vocabulary down, you'll start to see the bigger picture of what the problems are asking you. But you HAVE to put in as much time as possible drilling these repetitive formulas/procedures into your head. The conceptual part is nothing to laugh at either, but I think understanding the concepts become more simpler once you remember the formulas.

My exam is in two days. Just finished re-reading B1-B3 and I was kind of surprised by how I was able to turn every page and just be like, “Know that. Know that… know that. Know that.” Infinite MCQ's + memorization of formulas + reading = you got this.

    FAR: 50, 76!
REG: 74... (ouch baby, very ouch), 76!
    AUD: 65, 91!?
    BEC: 80! Aaaand doneskies!

    May 2012 to August 2013. Can't believe it's over.

Looks like we are all in the same boat…I am taking BEC in a couple of days and I am using Becker. Everyone keeps saying Becker is really bad for BEC. So what do I do now?! lol

I spent more time in the BEC exam than I did for REG and AUD. Those cost questions are a bear, no doubt, and some of the econ questions they can ask you are lengthy. So, no, you're not the only one.

BEC is tough because it's like OCI — it's a dump account. There are so many unrelated items that the AICPA felt they needed to test but couldn't adequately fit in other exams. I felt Becker did a great job preparing me for REG and AUD, but I didn't feel this was the case for BEC. I had numerous questions that were on topics I had never been exposed to. This makes judging how long a BEC set of questions will take tough to answer because IT questions may be 5 seconds to identify but a cost question may take several minutes.

I think if time has been an issue for you on previous exams, it is something to monitor in your studying. If you've finished in adequate time on previous exams, then I wouldn't worry about the time, just the results of your practice.

    Best of luck.

I am pounding out questions like no other. What I have found to be my weak point is the memorization of all the models and vocab. I have nailed the formulas.

It is the things like COSO, enterprise risk management, the SCOR model, difference between ROI, NPV, the cost of quality and the Conformance Vs Non conformance… All that memorization is making my head want to explode…

Just took another 100 question test… final score, 71 Chapters 3 was really bad and chapter 5!?! was second worst… usually my best.

Oh well, ill just keep plugging away. Have t-minus 1 week.

Thanks everyone! Glad to know I'm not the only one in this boat. Inferno, I'll definitely heed your advice.

I keep envisioning that moment of excitement when I receive my final passing grade (I'm sure you all do the same). Maybe my kids will stop looking at me like I am a stranger when this is all over with.

    Best of luck!!
