Becker Question –

More of a whiny boy rant, I know, but I got a “weaker” on IT for BEC. Some other people I know had similar experiences. For future people studying BEC, you may want to supplement with other materials.

Agreed. I got a “Weaker” for IT as well.

I'm not sure how I passed, but I did not feel like Becker and the CPA Exam were on the same page… yet somehow it ended up okay. I'd highly suggest supplementing for BEC.

I agree with both of you. I'm a bit of a tech nerd so a lot of the IT section was pretty easy for me but I remember the questions on my exam were not related to the material in Becker at all. Luckily I was able to use general knowledge to answer them.

I suggest either supplementing with the ninja notes, the wiley test bank, or both.

Inferno, how did you know you scored weaker if you passed? Does your score report show that even if you passed? I wish mine did that.

I supplemented and still saw words I didn't know existed in the English language. It is what it is unfortunately. :-/

Maybe it's a MD thing, but I go here to check my score: https://www.dllr.state.md.us/license/cpa/cpaexam/

From there, you just go to check score and it allows you to click onto your tests. Each test, pass or fail, shows you how you did in all the main areas of the exam (divided like how Becker shows you in the beginning of Chapter 1) giving you either a “Weaker”, “Comparable”, or “Stronger” score.

In becker there is Ancilliary part in IT section.I have just skimmed it around seems that I should really know that well 😕

Will begin revising for BEC in day or two will have 2-3 weeks for revision.Have Becker and Wiley Test bank and made my own notes.I found Becker Flashcards to be useful this time around as it helps with formulas.

@InferOmni i remember you in BEC study group July/Aug 2013 you helped me with B2-B3 doubts..Congratulations on passing BEC. Any particular advice on revision with BEC

Personally, I would know that ancillary section well. I did the practice questions for that section, looked at what information the MCQs focused on, went back and highlighted those areas and then memorized them. So not the whole section, but definitely everything that was covered in the MCQs.

My advice:

1.) Memorize all the formulas. Then understand them. Know what they're solving for and what those numbers represent.

2.) Supplement with Wiley. They have a lot of questions topics/formats that aren't included in Becker.

3.) Don't slack on F6.

4.) Oodles and noodles of MCQ's.
