Becker A4

Just did a 50-question Becker practice exam on Becker A4 and got an 88%, which is not good enough for me (my study strategy is to keep doing 50-question exams until I get a 90% or better). Granted, this is my first time reviewing the material since going through the lectures, and this is better than I did on the homework. Looking over my results, I got the “fact” questions correct (i.e. questions on material that you just have to memorize), but I struggled on the questions where you had to reason out the answers. This makes me believe that an 88% is not indicative of my grasp of the material. Thoughts on how I could better prepare? I write out the explanations and make sure I understand the reasoning, but still… AUD has been giving me fits. :-/

ya man sorry to tell you but you should probably start over again from A1. You just don't seem to understand the material.

    Sorry 🙁

I get the A1 and A2 stuff (and A5 and A6 for the most part), but A3 and A4 are what's been giving me trouble, and I've heard those are the two most heavily tested chapters. Just did a second exam that had a lot more of the reasoning rather than memorizing and went down to a 70%. If you have any advice about how to tackle the “best answer” questions, please let me know! Those are what seem to especially give me trouble.

Don't be mislead about those chapters being more tested. All fair game. Don't stress out!!!

Try to view alternative explanations on YouTube or Powerpoint/pdf files from various universities.

I'm only on A3, but I am also struggling on those types of problems.

    BEC: 93 4/18/13
    FAR: 89 7/3/13
    REG: 90 8/30/13
    AUD: 95 11/29/13

    DONE!

I probably watched the A4 lectures 4-5 times before I really started understanding and having it “click.” I think the best “ah-ha!” moment was when I studied the Revenue and Expenditure cycle flowcharts they provided. When I finally saw which department gets what document and where they all end up I finally felt more confident. To be honest, I never was 100% “I GOT THIS!” and went into my exam little nervous and left feeling even worse – but I got my score back at a 97! I remember seeing your scores in the other exams and while I don't think “don't worry about it” is good advice for anyone, I can honestly say that the 150 questions Becker has on it is overkill for a 90 question exam which isn't ALL about business cycles. Good luck!
