Becker Question –

I started taking the CPA exam last year. I’ve passed 3 and trying to finish the 4th before September. My software expired so I went ahead and ordered the 2012 software for my last section.

Boy does it suck. The UI is just so bad compared to the 2011 version and somewhat annoying to navigate. It seems that you have to have done questions or watched a certain amount of lectures for the progress test option to appear, and they completely REMOVED QUIZZES.

Quizzes were such a great way to go back and review previous chapters. They randomized the hw questions for each section.

Using the 2012 software is going to bring my efficiency down. Really upset about how they gimped the software.

I felt the same way when I first started using 2012. But check out the progress tests starting in Chapter 2. Theses tests are very similar to the 2011 quizzes. Hope this helps!

Yes they're the same thing. I think you're so upset because you're used to 2011 and now you feel like it's a new system, which I guess is understandable. I have 2 friends who passed 2 tests with 2011 and 2 tests with 2012. The efficiency of the software hasn't changed; just the layout.

dont like the new layout. harder to find stuff but it has not changed they just copied all the 2011 stuff…..same price for old material

I don't like that they go rid of quizzes either, I used those a lot when I was reviewing. I do like the Progress Tests because you can go over several chapters at once. But it's not the same, they should have kept the quizzes too. I liked being able to do questions from specific sections only.

It's not just a new layout. They removed a function from the software itself.

Quizzes were great from doing just a few random questions from a specific section of a chapter. Especially sections you were weak on. Progress test aren't the same. Their random questions over what seems to be a certain chapters.

I'm so sad 🙁
